Chapter 185 - Capturing the Galarian Farfetch'd

"It's more than just the Dark type; this Farfetch'd seems to have awakened a second personality."

"Alcohol is the key that unlocks both its Dark-type attributes and its alter-ego," Feng Che observed as he scanned the bird's current status.

Pokémon: Galarian Farfetch'd Potential: Legendary Level: 51 Traits: Dual-Personality Awakening Type: Dark / Flying

The system wasn't joking. Its power scales directly with its intoxication level. It was a Senior Elite moments ago, but one bottle of vodka pushed it straight into the Gym Leader tier.

[Escavalier: This is bad. The duck actually drank the stuff.][Accelgor: We're in trouble. Its latent power is exploding.]

The two attackers stared in terror at the Farfetch'd, which was now radiating a thick, black miasma like a demon from the abyss. Just as they prepared to flee, a black streak of light cleaved through the air beside them. A massive ancient tree was instantly split in two, and a deep, bottomless trench appeared in the earth.

It was a casual, one-handed swing.

[Escavalier: We're dead. It's even stronger than before.][Accelgor: We can't outrun it. Our only hope is a combined assault!]

The duo shared a desperate glance. Escavalier unleashed a blinding Mirror Shot, while Accelgor generated multiple Double Team clones, each charging a Shadow Ball to hurl at the bird.

"Hmph."

With a cold snort, the Farfetch'd raised its leek high and brought it down in a violent arc. A wave of black energy completely shattered the Mirror Shot and slammed Escavalier into a massive trunk, snapping the tree in half.

Against Accelgor's clones, the Farfetch'd used its own high-speed movement to create a flurry of afterimages. It lunged from above, hammering the real Accelgor into the ground with its leek. BOOM! A crater formed in the forest floor. Accelgor lay motionless in the pit, its eyes rolled back.

"Who else?! WHO ELSE?!"

The Farfetch'd had lost its sense of self to the alcohol. Its murderous gaze now locked onto Feng Che.

Now I see why the others wanted it dead, Feng Che thought. In this state, it's a bloodthirsty berserker that can't tell friend from foe. It's a double-edged sword, but one I can learn to wield. Evolution should stabilize this condition.

"Go, Frogadier! Show it the strength you gained in the grotto."

[Frogadier: A powerful opponent. I will use my ultimate move to bring it down.]

Frogadier extended its arms, manifesting two massive blades of compressed water. Across the clearing, the Farfetch'd raised its leek, a series of white pulses signaling a rapid-stacking Swords Dance. Its aura spiked dangerously.

"Don't let it outpace you, Frogadier! Use Swords Dance as well!"

As Frogadier gripped its water blades, the sky suddenly turned black. Winds howled and lightning flickered. Since evolving in the Poseidon Grotto, Frogadier carried a trace of Kyogre's influence—wherever it fought, a localized storm followed.

As the torrential rain began to fall, Frogadier transformed into a blue blur. The downpour didn't seem to faze the Farfetch'd; it spun its leek with such speed that it created a vacuum shield. Within a two-meter radius of the bird, not a single drop of rain reached the ground.

Impressive. Using Brutal Swing to deflect the rain itself, Feng Che noted. Frogadier is slightly lower in level, but its combat experience is far superior. This Farfetch'd is the perfect addition to fill the Fighting-type vacancy in my team.

A green pillar of light erupted from the Farfetch'd's leek, extending it to four meters—a Leaf Blade of immense proportions. The bird swung the giant blade, clashing with Frogadier in a series of high-speed exchanges.

Incredible speed. My Frogadier has been enhanced with Salac medicine, yet this duck is keeping pace, Feng Che mused.

Suddenly, a golden blade of light shot from the Farfetch'd's hand, tearing through the storm clouds. It had managed to charge a Solar Blade mid-fight. The strike ripped a hole in the clouds, causing the rain to cease instantly. Sunlight bathed the clearing, illuminating the nicks and cuts on the bird's leek.

Frogadier responded by creating a dozens of Double Team clones to surround its opponent.

"Frogadier, Water Pulse!"

Frogadier dispelled its blades and clapped its hands together, condensing a massive, rotating sphere of high-pressure water. It hurled the "Spiral Sphere" toward the Farfetch'd.

The intoxicated bird laughed, swinging its leek to parry. Upon contact, the Water Pulse shattered into a million droplets, drenching the Farfetch'd and cooling its feverish skin. Before it could recover, Frogadier slammed its palms onto the earth. Intense frost radiated outward, instantly flash-freezing the damp forest.

The Farfetch'd was encased in a block of solid ice, its leek still raised high, its eyes darting around in shock.

"Go, Poké Balls!"

Feng Che used his psychic power to guide three balls. Escavalier and Accelgor were sucked in instantly. The third ball struck the ice, but the Farfetch'd shattered its prison with a final surge of strength, batting the Poké Ball away like a baseball.

Drained and gasping for breath, the bird leaned on its leek, refusing to fall.

"Frogadier, use your strongest technique. This one won't yield unless it's completely overwhelmed."

Frogadier raised its arms, summoning a massive Whirlpool that transformed into a towering water tornado. The Farfetch'd watched in awe as nearby trees were sucked in and twisted into splinters. The vortex eventually engulfed the bird, spinning it until the world turned black.

"The power of that move is growing," Feng Che praised. "Next time, try freezing the whirlpool while it's spinning, then shattering the ice for an explosive finish."

Frogadier nodded, filing away the tactical advice. Feng Che threw the Poké Ball once more. This time, there was no resistance. The Galarian Farfetch'd was captured.

Team Plasma Headquarters

"Colress, what did you say?!" Ghetsis's voice screamed from the monitor. "The feathers of Zekrom and Reshiram are gone? Zeraora has been stolen? HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!"

"And you, Yamamoto! You discovered a League Elite and decided to play 'cat and mouse' instead of acting immediately? You almost got the entire ship sunk!"

Colress and Yamamoto bowed their heads in silence, enduring Ghetsis's hysterical rage.

"Enough," Ghetsis said, finally cooling down. "Colress, you managed to finish the cloning process before the theft. Return to the lab. I expect results from the remaining samples."

"Understood, Lord Ghetsis," Colress replied and retreated.

"Yamamoto, stay. We need to discuss security," Ghetsis turned his cold gaze back to the screen. "Tell me, have you investigated this 'Kiyoma'?"

"We found the real Kiyoma frozen in his apartment, sir," Yamamoto said, sweating. "He has no memory of the perpetrator. He went to a bar and woke up in an ice block. Our transit records show no strangers entered Driftveil recently."

"So you're telling me," Ghetsis's voice rose to an ominous pitch, "that someone cleaned out our treasures, escaped with a Mythical, and we don't even know their name? Is that what you're saying, YAMAMOTO?!"

Ghetsis's head throbbed with a rising fury as he stared at his incompetent commander.
