"N, why don't we have a contest to see who can be the first to subdue Kyurem?" Feng Che suggested, instantly piquing N's interest.
"No problem. I won't lose, and I'll definitely be the one to subdue Kyurem first," N replied confidently. He patted Reshiram, and the Vast White Pokémon exhaled a massive Fire Blast measuring nearly a meter across. This was the result of Reshiram tightly compressing its raw thermal energy. After all, compared to Zekrom, Reshiram's Fire-type affinity gave it a definitive type advantage over the Ice-type Kyurem.
"Kyurem, those two are no match for you, and this cavern is your home ground! Unleash the absolute power of the ultimate dragon!" Ghetsis bellowed. In his grip, he held the DNA Splicers—the crucial key required to control Kyurem.
"Come on, Kyurem! You are the strongest dragon; you cannot lose!" Ghetsis muttered to himself. I haven't fully deciphered the exact operational mechanics of the DNA Splicers yet, so I don't dare let Kyurem use them just yet. I'm afraid it might break free from my mental control.
Ghetsis suddenly tapped his earpiece, connecting directly to Colress. "Colress! Have you found a safe way to utilize the DNA Splicers yet?!" he demanded loudly.
"Lord Ghetsis, please grant me a little more time. I am currently in the middle of decoding the deep secrets of the DNA Splicers," Colress reported from his laboratory, carefully placing a single drop of highly purified blood into a glass test tube.
"Deliver your results as quickly as possible! This directly concerns the birth of the ultimate Kyurem!" Ghetsis barked, his voice dropping into a chilling register.
"Understood, Lord Ghetsis. I shall crack the secrets of the DNA Splicers as swiftly as possible. I will not disappoint you," Colress assured him before ending the transmission.
"Colress... I know exactly how deep your personal ambitions run, but I appreciate clever men. I trust you won't fail me," Ghetsis muttered sourly as he lowered his hand.
Kyurem exhaled a catastrophic Blizzard, blanketed the sky in an endless shroud of freezing snow. Heavy storm clouds gathered rapidly overhead, and ice shards the size of a man's palm began raining down from the dense canopy.
"Reshiram, counter with Fire Blast!" N commanded his partner.
Reshiram unleashed a sharp, resonant dragon roar. Opening its maw, an unprecedentedly massive orb of white-hot fire erupted from its jaws, its outer perimeter shimmering with a distinct, golden solar ring.
Kyurem instantly sensed the volatile, suffocating thermal energy radiating from the advancing projectile. If it took a direct hit from this colossal Fire Blast, it would likely be incapacitated on the spot.
Kyurem slammed its heavy hind legs against the earth, causing thousands of massive ice spires to violently erupt from the bedrock. The jagged projectiles shot forward, intending to pierce right through the center of the incandescent sphere. However, the exact moment the ice spires neared the orb, the terrifying thermal radiation flash-melted them into a deluge of boiling water.
"Kyurem, use Glaciate!" Ghetsis commanded, staring at the advancing sphere with deep trepidation. That ungrateful brat is forcing Reshiram to channel its absolute maximum parameters. Why must you stand here and block my path? Is your ultimate dream not the absolute unification of the Unova region? Ghetsis thought, thoroughly bewildered by N's defiance.
The ice spikes lining Kyurem's back multiplied rapidly as it aggressively drew upon the environmental cryogenic elements of the Giant Chasm. This absolute-zero aura was the very source energy that had bled out into the mountains while the dragon remained sealed.
Kyurem expelled the condensed frost from its maw, transforming it into a colossal torrent of absolute-zero energy in midair. The precise instant the Fire Blast collided with the absolute-zero front, a blinding, white-hot flash illuminated the entire horizon.
A cataclysmic shockwave erupted in the upper atmosphere, rippling outward in every direction. The crushing kinetic wave violently tore a massive gap through the thick storm clouds overhead. Even Ghetsis's Hydreigon completely lost its spatial stability under the sheer pressure of the blast, its body spiraling uncontrollably down toward the earth.
Once the piercing radiance finally dissipated, nearly half of the perennial snow and ice covering the surrounding mountains had been vaporized into nothingness.
"How can Reshiram's power be this staggering?"
By the time Ghetsis regained consciousness, he found himself collapsed on the rocky floor alongside his battered Hydreigon. The Brutal Pokémon was covered in structural lacerations, deep red blood flowing steadily from its wounds.
As Ghetsis strained to force himself back to his feet, a sharp, white-hot flash of agony shot up from his left ankle. His leg had already swollen to the size of a mangled hoof.
"Return, Hydreigon." Ghetsis recalled his partner into its Poké Ball.
He looked up toward the sky, only to realize that Kyurem, subjected to the concurrent assaults of Reshiram and Zekrom, was being systematically beaten back. Zekrom shot across the upper reaches, discharging a massive barrage of golden electricity that slammed directly into Kyurem's chassis, forcing the frozen dragon backward several paces.
"I can't afford to wait any longer! If this drags out, Kyurem will be completely overwhelmed by their combined might." Ghetsis steeled his gaze. "Go, DNA Splicers! Absorb Reshiram!"
Ghetsis hurled the ancient relic directly toward Kyurem.
Sensing its master's intent, Kyurem locked eyes with Ghetsis for a fraction of a second. It unleashed a deafening roar as a blinding radiance exploded from its icy wings. The dragon plummeted from the upper atmosphere, crashing heavily into the basin below. A thunderous boom echoed across the chasm as dense plumes of dust and pulverized stone billowed into the air.
Reshiram, being the closest to the impact zone, bore the brunt of the trap. It instantly felt an irresistible, overwhelming gravitational suction lock onto its vessel from Kyurem's position. Unable to break the spatial pull, Reshiram's entire physical body liquefied into a massive sphere of pure white energy, before being dragged into Kyurem's core.
N rapidly deployed a Staraptor to safely catch himself midair, watching in absolute horror as Reshiram was swallowed whole by the Boundary Pokémon.
"White Kyurem, descend upon this world!"
Kyurem's physical mass swelled exponentially, its entire frame pulsing with an infinite, terrifying reservoir of raw power. A blinding flash of cosmic energy erupted outward from its form. As the light faded, White Kyurem stood revealed—a deity whose raw parameters were rivaled only by the Creator God, Arceus.
Its upper body was elevated, poised firmly on its slender hind legs. Its left crest had been replaced by a dense, flowing shroud of elegant white plumage identical to Reshiram's, and its pale eyes now possessed distinct, sharp pupils. Its left forelimb had remolded into a massive, downy wing-blade, while its right forelimb remained an asymmetrical shard of solid ice mirroring the left structure.
Its original frozen wings had retracted smoothly into its shoulders, replaced by a thick crest of white fur along its neck and spine. The ice spikes along its tail had vanished entirely, remolded into a white, hyper-heated combustion engine identical to the propulsion drive of Reshiram.
White Kyurem unleashed a world-shaking roar, the mechanical engine of its tail instantly venting an immense stream of freezing fire.
Roar!
The deity unhinged its jaws, delivering a deafening bellow that unleashed an absolute-zero shockwave across the terrain. Within heartbeats, the vaporized snow and ice returned, completely blanketing the mountains once more in a dense, permafrost layer.
"Magnificent! White Kyurem, your power is truly peerless!" Ghetsis praised loudly, his voice filled with ecstatic triumph.
However, Ghetsis's smile instantly froze. He caught sight of White Kyurem's eyes—they were completely saturated with a violent, chaotic malice. White Kyurem was staring straight down at Ghetsis.
Opening its colossal maw, the newly reborn god expelled a torrent of absolute-zero freezing air directly at its master.
