Chapter 100 - Chapter 100

Chapter 100: A Bet with Mikoto!

Seeing that Oborotsuki hadn't done anything to her youngest son and was now walking toward her, Mikoto instantly breathed a sigh of relief.

But the tension immediately returned. Her mood became anxious, her heart racing.

"Last time I didn't get the chance to ask your name. You can tell me now, right?"

"Since you claim to be here to help the Uchiha clan, it would be too rude if I didn't even know your name…"

Mikoto forced herself to calm down, trying to first figure out Oborotsuki's identity and background.

Her indirect probing made Oborotsuki chuckle and shake his head:

"My name is Oborotsuki. Hōzuki Oborotsuki."

Oborotsuki openly gave his full name.

He didn't even mind revealing his clan.

He was 100% certain that Mikoto wouldn't dare do anything to him, nor would she tell anyone he had been here.

Unless she was a fool.

Oborotsuki clearly remembered her extreme panic the last time he approached little Sasuke.

That was the instinctive, heartfelt protectiveness of a mother.

In other words, Sasuke and Itachi were her greatest weaknesses.

There was no way Mikoto would risk her sons' safety just to uncover his identity and report him.

"Hōzuki… Oborotsuki?"

Mikoto looked at him with half-belief.

"If I remember correctly, the Hōzuki clan is from Kirigakure."

"So you really… aren't from Konoha?"

"Did I ever say I was from Konoha?"

Oborotsuki smiled as he countered, already standing right in front of Mikoto.

He naturally reached out and placed a hand on her shoulder.

The small gesture instantly made Mikoto's body tremble. She instinctively stepped back a large pace, creating what she considered a safe distance.

But because of this reaction, Oborotsuki's gaze darkened slightly, and his expression became less friendly.

Seeing the change in his demeanor, Mikoto's heart jolted:

"Sorry… you, you were too close."

"It's… more appropriate to talk while keeping this distance…"

Realizing he might get angry and harm little Sasuke because of her reaction, Mikoto immediately softened her tone and attitude.

She subtly lowered her head and glanced at the crib where little Sasuke slept.

She began calculating in her mind: if she acted now, what were her chances of grabbing Sasuke in the first instant?

Oborotsuki noticed this barely concealed movement clearly.

He could even easily sense the precise changes in the chakra flow within her body.

So he gave a faint smile:

"Don't worry. I won't harm you or your son."

"Of course… that's only if you cooperate with me."

"What exactly do you want me to cooperate with?"

Mikoto frowned.

She already had some unpleasant guesses in her heart.

But the man before her really didn't look like a bad person.

In fact, the more she looked, the more pleasing he seemed.

"Before I tell you my request, how about we play a little game?"

Oborotsuki asked with a meaningful smile.

Earlier, when he touched Mikoto, the system hadn't responded—no reward had triggered.

This made Oborotsuki realize he needed to completely conquer this woman to obtain the reward.

Otherwise, he would have taken her by force right then and there.

"Please don't waste too much time."

"My husband will be back soon—he's only gone for a short while."

Mikoto's heart beat faster for no apparent reason.

The uneasy feeling in her chest grew stronger.

She noticed something off in the way Oborotsuki was looking at her and worried that letting him stay any longer might lead to something bad.

So now, her top priority was to find a way to make him leave.

"Let's make a bet."

Oborotsuki didn't want to waste time either.

He extended one finger, gazing at Mikoto with amusement.

"A bet?"

"That's right. I bet that the Uchiha clan's rebellion will ultimately fail."

"And I can give you a definite answer: if you insist on continuing to oppose Konoha, there is only one possible outcome."

"The Uchiha clan will be completely exterminated."

"By the way, feel free to tell this prediction to Uchiha Fugaku."

"Just don't forget to keep my existence a secret."

Oborotsuki spoke leisurely, watching Mikoto with interest.

After hearing his words, Mikoto's face was filled with extreme shock and disbelief.

The amount of information revealed in this stranger's words was staggering!

First, he once again demonstrated deep knowledge of the conflict between the Uchiha clan and Konoha.

For a shinobi from Kirigakure, this level of understanding was shocking and confusing.

The Hōzuki clan had never had any connection with the Uchiha.

Why would someone from distant Kirigakure in the Land of Water know so much about Konoha's Uchiha clan?

These questions troubled Mikoto.

Second, Oborotsuki had just mentioned her husband's name.

But Mikoto was certain she had never told anyone Fugaku's name.

This meant the man had come fully prepared.

He had likely already investigated the entire Uchiha clan thoroughly.

"I don't know what you're talking about…"

After her brief shock, Mikoto shook her head.

In truth, she wasn't lying.

Because right now, she genuinely didn't know that the Uchiha clan was planning to rebel against Konoha.

She only knew that recently, the conflict between the village and the clan had been growing increasingly intense.

Every day, her husband Fugaku was busy handling these matters.

He even held secret meetings from time to time to calm the clan's emotions.

Mikoto had never imagined that Fugaku would lead the clan in rebellion or launch a coup against Konoha.

"So that's why I said it's a bet."

"You can also bet that it won't happen."

Oborotsuki smiled without explaining further.

"If you lose, what then?"

Mikoto immediately countered.

She thought of using this opportunity to make sure he never came near the Uchiha clan again.

If other clan members discovered a strange man frequently entering her home, it would be very bad for Fugaku's reputation.

"If I lose, I will never come to the Uchiha clan again, and I will never see you again. Though it's a shame I won't get you, I'm known in the ninja world for keeping my word…"

After finishing, Oborotsuki watched Mikoto with a look of pure appreciation, as though admiring a perfect work of art.

His words and the intoxicated expression on his face instantly sent a chill through Mikoto, goosebumps rising all over her body.

She never expected this man to be so blatant about his desire to possess her…
