"Now it's time to reforge the Frostlight Orc Chief set, but I'll need powerful ice-type materials to upgrade it," Alan muttered as he looked at the Frostlight Orc Chief set.
It was a Level 160 item set with a special transformation skill attached to it.
The transformation was extremely powerful—it increased his physical stats by 50% while decreasing his magical stats by 50%.
Naturally, in order to obtain a higher-level version, he had hunted many orc tribes across the western continent. However, no other orcs dropped items with such a transformation effect. Only the Frostlight Orc Chief set possessed it—but at Level 160, it was now practically useless for the current Alan. Fighting with it felt like fighting half-naked.
"Though thanks to Battle Art Understanding, I can now copy the Frostlight Orc Chief's transformation skill and use it independently… but let's try upgrading it first," Alan muttered.
He examined the orc chief set carefully. It was heavy and sturdy, with a pale, icy-blue sheen. The helmet in particular radiated a cold aura. The set was originally crafted from Ogre bones.
"If I can obtain higher-grade ogre materials—like Frost Ogres or Black Ice Ogres—I can enhance its base structure," Alan said thoughtfully. "And I'll also need a superior ice-attribute material. That can be found in the frozen territory of Herra, where the myth of the Frost Queen originates."
He narrowed his eyes.
"And if I can hunt her… I can obviously create a guardian of that level as well."
Alan smiled faintly as he set his next goal.
To hunt the Frost Queen.
And craft another powerful guardian from her remains.
Alan bid farewell to Marie Rose and Latina before departing for Herra, a frozen territory near the Hemilton Principality.
The Hemilton Principality had been established by the Third Son of the Saharan First Emperor. This meant that its royal family possessed exceptionally powerful blood—the lineage of one who once dominated the continent flowed through their veins, granting them strong passive effects.
Of course, Alan had no intention of becoming hostile toward them. He was only here to hunt the Frost Queen.
After a month of travel, Alan finally arrived in the Herra Territory.
"Now… it's going to take a long search to find her," Alan muttered as he looked at the endless snowy expanse before him.
Herra was a special zone filled with numerous dungeons. In one of those countless dungeons resided the Frost Queen—but not even the Skunk Expedition, the greatest explorer party on the continent, had been able to locate her. Some even believed she didn't exist.
"Well, I have to start somewhere. At least I can gather materials to upgrade the Frostlight Orc Chief set while I'm here," he said.
After walking for another hour through the blizzard, he arrived at a cliffside cavern.
[You have entered the Frost Apes' Cave.]
It took Alan an entire day to clear it. The rewards were substantial—he obtained a Glacial Cannon Spellbook along with several rare materials. He immediately placed the unnecessary items on the auction.
He cleared three more dungeons over the next few days.
Finally—
[You have discovered: Frost Queen Kingdom.]
"Finally found it," Alan muttered, a faint smile forming on his lips.
He stepped inside.
He was instantly ambushed by Frost Soldiers—solid ice warriors wielding frozen spears.
"Level 200 on average… so it's safe to assume the Frost Queen is at least Level 300," Alan analyzed calmly as he began destroying them.
Elemental beings like these were extremely vulnerable to magic—and in front of a Legendary Mage like Alan, they were nothing more than fragile statues.
Ice shattered. Frost exploded. Blue fragments scattered across the hall.
Soon, Alan reached the boss chamber.
At the center sat the Frost Queen—a Super Named Boss—on a throne of eternal ice.
Her skin was icy blue, her long hair shimmering like frozen crystal. She wore a flowing white dress and a crown carved from glacial diamond. If not for her unnatural frost aura and cold complexion, she would have been considered breathtakingly beautiful.
"Hello, Frost Queen," Alan said calmly as he took out the Hellfire Staff. "I will make you mine."
The Frost Queen looked at him coldly and waved her finger.
More than ten Ice Knights formed instantly around him, their armor glowing with frozen runes. At the same time, a massive domain unfolded.
A blizzard roared to life.
[You have entered the Domain of Eternal Winter.]
The domain dealt a fixed 5,000 Frost Damage per second and rapidly built up Frostbite stacks that could freeze the target solid.
But Alan remained calm.
His resistances activated as it was fully resisted.
Her greatest advantage—her domain—had been partially neutralized. While Alan resisted most of the frost damage, the Domain of Eternal Winter continued to strengthen the Frost Queen and her Ice Knights, coating their weapons in deeper glacial energy.
Alan exhaled slowly.
" Fire Dragon Claw."
Crimson mana erupted around his arm, shaping into a massive draconic talon. He swiped forward—
BOOM!
Three Ice Knights were torn apart instantly, shattered into fragments of enchanted ice.
The Frost Queen's eyes glowed brighter.
She raised both hands.
"Glacial Spear."
Hundreds of condensed ice lances formed midair and shot toward Alan like a storm of frozen arrows.
" Fire Dragon Breath."
Alan opened his palm and unleashed a torrent of blazing draconic flames. The fire roared like a living beast, colliding with the glacial spears. Steam exploded violently across the chamber as fire and frost clashed.
The temperature fluctuated wildly.
The Ice Knights charged through the mist.
"Extinction Ray."
A beam of condensed destructive energy shot from Alan's staff, piercing through two Ice Knights and carving a molten trench across the frozen floor before slamming into the Frost Queen herself.
He have already copied the powerful Extinction Ray from Mumud's Orb.
Her HP dropped—but not significantly.
As expected of a Level 380 Super Named Boss.
She retaliated instantly as mana exploded from her.
