As they walked, Valerie gave them each a pair of Source Remnants from her shadow, so that they could get some last minute powering up. It was the one time that her slow pace thanks to her cane was actually useful, because it meant more time to power level.
They didn't even have to focus all that much on where they were going. The Monument might not have been as big as the mega towers, but it was tall enough that it peaked over most buildings. Plus, there were plenty of other people heading towards it, like Moths to a flame, so they simply let themselves be carried by the current of people.

She was giving him constant face and head rubs that were causing a constant, chainsaw-like purring noise to come from the adorable demon.
