Chapter 136 - Chapter 136: The Teleport Totem and the Pantry

After handing out Poké Puffs, Ron surveyed the farm. Work had wound down, so he gave the Pokémon a short break and headed to the Mines.

The dwarves from the desert and the mine now lived together. As Ron arrived by mine cart, he found them cooking Moomoo Milk dishes while crafting his Teleport Totem.

One dwarf chopped cave carrots into a simmering milk pot. The rich dairy aroma blended with the earthy scent of melting winter roots, filling the cavern.

The totem-builder inhaled deeply—and worked faster.

"Done!" it cheered, holding up a miniature totem pole. Spotting Ron at the entrance, it handed him the device. "Just place items in front of it to teleport them. But remember—people can't pass through."

The Wizard had added that safeguard to prevent accidental cross-dimensional travel.

Ron didn't mind. It'd spare him awkward questions if Shane ever glimpsed his meat-processing factory through the totem.

He took the two totems—one for the farm, one for Kalos.

Before Ron could thank them, the dwarf snatched a bowl and squeezed into the cooking crowd. "Don't push! This is mine!" it cried, hoisting its bowl toward the pot.

Ron left them some extra milk and slipped away quietly.

No rush to return to Kalos—the factory wouldn't finish until the 6th. He'd stay in Pelican Town to explore the Community Center's Crafts Room and visit Willy's shop for a Smoker blueprint. Beyond fulfilling his promise to Abigail, he planned to build fish ponds—Kalos loved seafood, but Willy's limited fishing trips (due to ecological protections) restricted supply.

At the Community Center, Joy was restocking Kalos instant meals. She waved at Ron but stayed busy.

Ron approached the Craft Room. With ample materials, he tested each item. If useful, he'd mass-produce later.

Finished crafting, he noticed a new room: the Pantry.

Completing its collection bundle would restore the farm's dilapidated greenhouse. Robin had confirmed only Junimos could repair it.

Ron examined the requirements:

[Pantry Offering:]

[Sun Stone ×1 | Moon Stone ×1 | Fire Stone ×1]

[Thunder Stone ×1 | Water Stone ×1 | Leaf Stone ×1]

[Reward: Greenhouse]

'Evolution stones…' Ron frowned. Where to find them? But since Penny's Clefairy evolved, they must exist in Pelican Town.

He left, nodding to Joy.

Outside, Caroline stood waiting.

"Afternoon," she greeted softly.

"Afternoon."

She was clearly hoping for news of Abigail. Ron offered, "She's well. Left Santalune yesterday—with her first Gym Badge."

Caroline smiled faintly. She cared little for Gyms or Leagues; Abigail's adventure was never part of her plans. But her daughter's safety was enough.

Realizing Abigail wouldn't call today, Caroline suppressed her disappointment and returned to the store.

Teenagers rarely checked in thrice daily—even for worried parents. Ron kept Abigail's phone number to himself. If she ever wanted to share it, he'd buy Caroline a Kalos phone.

But with Level 40 Gengar and quality gear, Abigail was safer than most.

Ron headed back to the farm.

Meanwhile, in Kalos…

The journey from Santalune to Lumiose took two days.

Abigail's farm/mining work had built her stamina; Serena's Contest circuit had done the same. They chatted as they walked.

"Your hometown only has 100 days a year?" Serena gaped.

Everything about Abigail fascinated her:

- The portable campfire (extinguish → pack → reignite anywhere)

- Unbelievably delicious ingredients

- A bizarrely light sword that accelerated movement

- Shoes that boosted strength

That sword was feather-light—just holding it made your reflexes sharper.
