The beast babies gasped in shock at the scene. Buildings were burning, and people had already begun running helter-skelter in every direction.
Ren stepped back and turned to the babies. "You should take cover..."
"I can tame the flames," Luria interrupted before he could finish.
Ren stared at her. "Huh?"
"I can stop the flames," Luria repeated. "So don't worry. Just take care of Dad, and I'll handle it." She winked at Ren, then turned and took off.
Ren couldn't stop her. He stood there watching the little girl run toward the buildings engulfed in flames. Luria waved her hands in the direction of the fire, and water rushed up from the ground—growing into a massive wave that washed through the structures.
It didn't take long before all the buildings had cooled down.
"Hmm, I guess she really does have it under control," Ren murmured as he turned his attention back to the scene he needed to handle.
