The next day, all of them gathered in a room and the staff made an announcement. From now on, they are part of their association called World Hero Association (WHA) and those who are present there are the selected few to be an official and professional hero.
They will get their certificate, indicating in which class they'll be.
Now, about 800 people are present, each carefully selected after considering their background, power and biography.
There were four types of classes- S,A,B and C. C class are the lowest and considered as a sidekick while S class are the top notch, capable of working by themselves.
When they got their results, Kael was put in B Class while Diego was put in C Class. Their class did not bother them, of course,as long as they work together. S class have less than 20 heroes, A Class is about 70, B class is about 300 while the rest are in C Class. They were also given rank, considering their power and capabilities. Kael was in Rank 8 while Diego was in top 300.
Further announcement were made; the heroes have free will to be in their designated city or area while also they can live in the facility. They will be given salary, considering the difficulty of their work and in addition, they can climb ranks too. Though they will be removed from the association if any activity of deviancy is done by them and they'll be restrained using a power nullifying band and will be in home isolation.
Girl: Excuse me, but how will we climb rank? Are we gonna fight someone or...?
WHA: The day the light shone, a dark light also shines along with it. This dark light is produced by our main concern, our archnemesis, who we call him TheMonarch. Few got unlucky and got caught by it and became DarkKnights. Their minds is corrupted under his influence and carry out his every command. They are a threat to the world and your job is to subdue them with every means necessary. They will be relentless, but all of you are chosen by higher calling. So, do your best and try not to lose.
Senior citizens and childrens who have power also got isolated as the pressure on them will be high for them, plus they need more time to understand and know what is going on. While the adults and youngsters are more reliable as they understand what is needed to be done.
For people with power who broke the law or captured Dark Knights, a special jail is made for them called the 'IceBox', located at J City, the second continent, below the first continent, which was shaped like a horseshoe.
On the third day, they were organised into a group/team. Kael and Diego got to be in the same team with two other heroes, both girls, one is a tomboy named Charlie, age 20 and the other is a supportive girl named Leona, age 19.
Charlie towered over nearly everyone around her, standing at an imposing six-foot-two. Her physique was athletic and powerfully built, shaped through relentless training rather than mere genetics. Lean muscle defined her body clearly beneath her clothing, giving her the presence of someone capable of overwhelming force even while standing still.
Wild crimson hair framed her sharp features in untamed strands, its fiery color alone enough to draw attention in a crowded room. Her amber-colored eyes carried an intense, unwavering sharpness to them, almost like the gaze of a predator constantly assessing its surroundings. Even at rest, there was a certain pressure in the way she looked at people—direct, fearless, and impossible to ignore.
Unlike Diego's effortless charm or Kael's quiet exhaustion, Charlie possessed a far rougher kind of presence. Confidence radiated naturally from the way she stood, moved, and spoke, as though hesitation itself was something she had never learned.
Her clothing reflected that same practicality. Dark fitted clothes allowed freedom of movement while subtly emphasizing her athletic frame, while the red flannel tied around her waist added a slightly rebellious edge to her appearance. Heavy black boots struck firmly against the ground with every step, making her presence feel even larger than it already was.
On the other hand, Leona possessed a gentle beauty that felt almost delicate at first glance. Standing shorter than the others with a soft and slender frame, she carried herself with a quiet elegance that naturally drew comfort rather than intimidation from those around her.
Long silver-white hair flowed smoothly past her shoulders in graceful waves, tied neatly with a black bow that contrasted softly against its pale color. Beneath her light bangs rested a pair of rosy pink eyes filled with warmth and sincerity, expressive enough that nearly every emotion she felt could be read instantly across her face.
Whether surprised, embarrassed, worried, or happy, Leona rarely hid what she was feeling. Her reactions came honestly and vividly, often making her the easiest person in the group to understand emotionally.
Her features were soft and youthful, carrying a gentle charm that matched her supportive nature perfectly. Unlike Charlie's fierce presence or Diego's playful confidence, Leona gave off a calming atmosphere—like someone who naturally stood beside others rather than above them.
Her clothing reflected that same elegance and kindness. Light-colored fabrics layered neatly around her figure, decorated with soft lavender accents that enhanced her graceful appearance without feeling excessive. Altogether, she looked less like someone made for battle and more like a comforting light quietly shining amidst chaos.
The team got paper like the others which contains their team name and codename. Their team's name is 'Nexus-5', and as for their codename, Kael's codename is 'Oblivion', Diego's is 'Kronos', Charlie's is 'Astra' and Leona's is 'Guardia'. Leona's ability include healing (slow), form energy barricade and boost her allies, which basically makes her a supporter. Charlie showed no interest in revealing her ability but as they realise her position in Class was A Class rank 16, they knew she's got to be strong and tough one. Leona was in B Class rank 37. Once they were done, they disperse.
Exploring the facility in group, Kael and others were on the far west wing.
By the time when most of the people went to the city side, an explosion occurs at the left wing of the facility.
Announcer: The facility is under attack. Multiple Dark Knights are detected. All heroes inside the facility are requested to stop them.
Charlie: Finally, some ass to kick. See you around, dipshit.
Kael: Wait, don't do anything rash or we could be in trouble.
But Charlie pay no heed and sped off, showing off her blazing speed as Kael and others follow behind.
As three Dark Knights (two men and one women) were destroying the facility, Charlie caught up, running at a blazing speed and tried to land a blow but one of them stopped her using a gust of wind to blow her away. Charlie took a breather and closely observe them. They had smoking black eyes and one of the spoke-
