The preparations that take longer are the internal ones, the specific reckoning of someone who has been running a purpose for centuries and who is in the process of acknowledging that the purpose is complete.

Not the observation of assessment — the specific watching of a father who has been in a prison for centuries and has been deprived of the watching for the entire length of time it would have been possible to watch before this, the watching of someone who is catching up on what they missed by being fully present to what's available.
