Chapter 381: Turbulence 2

Watching his son disappear with that girl, Tobitake Tonbo was all smiles.

"As expected of my son, he's a real lady-killer!"

With that, his mind was at ease. As for Maki and Wataru, he didn't have that feeling of a precious cabbage being gobbled up by a pig. Wataru was quite an outstanding boy, and more importantly, Tonbo had watched him grow up. He hoped they wouldn't bicker and would live their lives well, just like he and Ayame.

However, that girl with Tianyu was a bit of a concern. Relying on her exceptional abilities, she had been recruited into the Anbu shortly after graduation. She had completed many missions over the past two years and was a very talented girl. It was just that her philosophy regarding ninja leaned more toward the pre-Fourth War mindset. It was a bit different from the current era; he hoped she would change that outlook later on.

"Children will find their own happiness. Whatever, I'm here to back them up, so nothing major can go wrong."

Tonbo shook his head; he didn't need to micromanage so much. Then, with a smile, he walked to a nearby flower shop. He bought a bouquet his wife liked and headed home.

"Careful, the floor is slippery here."

A few white hairs had appeared on Tobitake Tosei's head, but he was still using a tool to wipe down any potentially slippery spots on the floor.

"Dad, don't worry so much. This isn't the first time," Ayame said, stroking her stomach. She was a bit speechless watching her father-in-law act as if he were facing a formidable enemy. This wasn't her first time giving birth—it was her third pregnancy. Besides, it had only been a few months; she hadn't reached the point where she couldn't move.

Knock, knock!

Tonbo walked in from outside, holding the fresh flowers.

"Get away, get away! Don't you know women are sensitive during pregnancy? Why are you buying flowers? Stand aside, don't mess with my grandson's health."

Tosei pushed him away immediately, fearing the flowers might be bad for Ayame. That was his fourth grandchild, after all.

"...This is my fourth kid. You only had one; how could you possibly understand better than me, Dad?" Tonbo was speechless. How could a man who only had one child compare himself to a man who already had three and was expecting a fourth? How could you know more than me!

"Regardless, we can't take a single risk," Tosei was exceptionally firm.

"Alright, alright."

Tonbo tossed the bouquet into a distant vase. He then went to Ayame's side, sensing the pulse within her. The gender was not yet determined because the embryo hadn't fully developed. However, Tonbo could sense a powerful life force pulsating within. He felt this child's life energy might even be stronger than Naruto's (without the Nine-Tails). In other words, this was another one who wouldn't lack chakra. Aside from the twins Tianyu and Maki, the other two children seemed to have different developmental directions in terms of talent.

"Hubby, how was work today? Did you reach your goal?" Ayame asked curiously. Tonbo was usually quite busy, but no matter how occupied he was, he always came home to see her. She was just worried that if he didn't reach his goals, he might feel discouraged—though she had never actually seen him that way.

Tonbo: "Don't worry, I already have a direction. It'll be ready for the world soon."

"That's good. I made your favorite Kung Pao Chicken today; let's eat first," Ayame said.

"Mm."

Tonbo sat at the dining table. Seeing the abundant meal spread out, a smile broke across his face. This was home.

"Where are Tianyu and Maki?" Ayame looked toward the door, noticing the two little ones who usually returned by now weren't there.

"Those two rascals are out on dates," Tonbo replied while digging into his rice.

"Eh? With who?" Ayame's eyes lit up with interest. Dating! It reminded her of when she and her husband were dating—sweet and happy.

"Maki is with Wataru, and Tianyu is with a young girl named Hinoko. She's quite pretty. They're likely at the movies right now," Tonbo said between mouthfuls.

"Wataru, huh? That's a good kid, and he's a fan of yours. Tianyu is doing well too, actually managed to land a girl. Seems he's finally matured."

A happy smile appeared on Ayame's face. They were in their thirties now; seeing their children grow up and experience the same things they once did brought back fond memories. Then she looked at Tonbo, her eyes full of affection—sweet as ever. After all these years, the sweetness in her gaze had never faded.

"Hey, don't act like I'm not here. Eat up," Tosei said, instantly annoyed by the two sparking off each other. He cut them off immediately. What if they got too carried away and somehow affected his grandson?

"..."

The incident with Toneri didn't cause too much upheaval in the world. However, people had witnessed the power of ultimate ninja strength. They began to have ideas about this peak power. Could they also become strong enough to strike down the moon?

This was especially true for the smaller nations. Although the World Ninja Association had been established and the Shinobi Alliance stood tall, there were still ninja with old-school mindsets who were obsessed with power. Whether it was forbidden jutsu or powerful ninja tools, they sought them out. The small countries far from the Five Great Nations were starting to stir. Specifically, after this incident, they saw the potential to become the Sixth Great Nation. Perhaps they could research and achieve it.

Human desire is like a boulder rolling down a high mountain. After a few years of peace, the hearts of restless elements were stirring again. There are many who want peace, but quite a few who want war. They were only held back by a lack of strength, cowering at home and not daring to be reckless. But their desires would never vanish.

Within the Land of Fire, ninja would occasionally appear within the borders to investigate the details of the Moon Incident. Other nations had peculiar ninja abilities, and they had managed to find some clues. However, by the time they arrived, the spatial portal there had already been destroyed by Neji. They could only return in disappointment.

Still, some refused to give up, trying to intercept spatial fluctuations to develop Space-Time Ninjutsu to reach the moon and find that immense power.

"These people really won't quit. Should we just take them out?" Kiba asked Kakashi with a face full of drive. As a Jonin of Konoha, he had joined the Konoha Military Police Force. He used his exceptional nose to track down lawbreakers. Now that foreign ninja were running amok in the Land of Fire, he felt it was time to stretch his muscles, which had been idle for too long. He figured the more merit he earned, the better his chances of becoming Hokage once Naruto stepped down. That was his plan. He believed he was fully capable of being Hokage. If it weren't for Naruto's overwhelming merit, hmph!

Kakashi: "No. They entered through the proper channels of the Ninja Association, so they are legal. We can't do anything to them."

For the sake of world peace, the Ninja Association had created many regulations that even the various nations didn't dare oppose.

"Ugh~ seriously, this is so boring!" Kiba sighed.
