Sofia's jaw tightened. The air in the boutique seemed to thicken as her wolf power hummed beneath her skin, begging to be let loose. She could easily have made the floor swallow Elena's feet or made those crystal stilettos pinch until Elena's toes bled.
However, Sofia decided she didn't want to cause a scene, so she began to lower herself, her knees just inches from the plush carpet, when a deep, commanding voice spoke.
"Sofia? You work here?"
Sofia's head snapped up. She straightened her back and stood fully upright, her blue eyes meeting the surprised gaze of a tall, powerfully built man.
