The first forty-eight hours had been terrible. Rita was forced to learn what true dedication and patience really meant from Kelvin as she spent nearly every moment of those difficult days there beside Sonia.
Kelvin spent every single night seated beside Sonia in her ward at his home after practically forcing Rita to leave and get some rest.
But Rita always felt uneasy leaving both of them alone, so she constantly returned to check on them.
Yet every single time she came back, Kelvin would still be awake, sitting silently while staring endlessly at the monitor displaying Sonia's condition.
Even when Rita repeatedly tried convincing him to rest for at least a few hours, it always proved completely futile until the monitor finally showed that Sonia's condition had stabilized.
Only then did Kelvin finally agree to transfer Sonia back into her room.
