FENG LANG
The screen of my phone lit up, my father's name boldly displayed as his call came through.
"Feng Zhenhai." I said, leaning back in my office chair. It'd been a long day, and I couldn't wait to get off work to unwind. I hoped Yichen wouldn't let me down.
I cracked my neck as I listened to my father speak.
"Son, everything's finally in order here." My father's gruff voice began. It was one of his qualities that made people stop and listen whenever he spoke.
"Humph, took you long enough" I responded, and he clicked his tongue in annoyance. It was always so easy to get under his skin.
"You could've taken after your charming father. Instead, you chose rotten old me. Tragic." I chuckled at his retort.
"At least I didn't inherit your looks. I really dodged a bullet." I shot back, and he sighed.
"You really are the punishment for my choices huh?"
"Nope, that would be your AWOL daughter. I'm too important for such a useless purpose."
