"No," Max said firmly. "I want to smoke them out. Let them run. Let them realize that every safe house they have is already compromised. They have nowhere left to hide. We've taken their club, their money, and their reputation tonight. Let the police do the messy work for now."
"It was a very, very long night," Ruby whispered, leaning her weight into Max's side. The adrenaline was finally leaving her, replaced by a deep, aching fatigue. She closed her eyes for a second, then remembered the other thorns in her side. "And how do we deal with Mia and Acacia?"
Max's expression didn't change, but the air in the car seemed to turn colder. "I will handle them," he said casually, though there was a promise of steel in his words.
"Hmm," Ruby said, opening her eyes and looking him dead in the face. She will be the one to see their faces in the office tomorrow morning. She then let out a deep, slow breath. She had dealt with those snakes before.
