Julian paused, the damp cloth hovering over her hip. He looked at her, his expression a mask of professional regret.
"For today, I'm sorry, but that will be all," he said softly. "You need to rest. Your body can't handle more than that right now. But... I can make some calls. I can arrange more clients for you starting tomorrow. Men who will pay well for the privilege."
"But I want more," Nancy cried, her voice cracking, a raw, desperate sound that echoed off the minimalist walls.
The drug was telling her that she was empty, that she needed to be filled, used, and distracted until the memory of her old life was buried under a mountain of strangers. "It's only mid-afternoon, Julian. Don't leave me like this."
Julian sighed, a sound of weary patience. "I will see what I can do later this evening. For now, stay in bed. I'm going to go get you some food. You need to eat if you're going to keep this up."
