Bakugo walked into the kill zone, keeping track of time.

However, like almost everyone else, he wasn't sneaking or scouting. He was walking through the jungle as if he owned it, hands in his pockets, eyes looking around the trees for someone to fight.

He stepped onto the path.

And just as planned, the wire snapped.

SNIP!

The pendulum log launched from behind the trees. Swinging straight towards his chest with enough force to break ribs.

In the bushes, the Glasses Team held their breath.

The short leader grinned. "Got him."

Alas, they had no clue how wrong they were.

Bakugo didn't dodge; he just stared at the log rushing towards him.

He simply raised one hand and did his usual thing.

BOOM!!!

The log exploded into a million pieces. The blast turned the entire trunk into a shower of splinters and sawdust that rained across the clearing like confetti.

Bakugo lowered his hand. And looked around with a confused face.

"The fuck was that?"

In the bushes, the team simply stared, in total shock.

The short leader's grin was gone. His glasses had slid down his nose. He had calculated the velocity, trajectory, and impact force of that log. It should have been enough to incapacitate anyone who wasn't actively defending.

This guy had turned it into firewood with one hand.

Recalculating, he thought. Recalculating everything.

The tall brothers looked at each other. They had rigged that trap together. Spent ten minutes getting the angle right.

And it had lasted exactly one second.

The bulky kid's shovel slipped from his hands.

The slime girl whispered, almost involuntarily.

"What?"

Bakugo's head snapped toward the bushes.

His eyes locked onto the exact spot where the voice had come from.

He grinned.

"Found you."

The short leader's blood ran cold. He threw his hand forward.

"SCATTER! NOW!"

The team broke from the bushes. All five of them. The tall brothers bolted left. The bulky kid ran right. The slime girl backpedaled toward the pit. The short leader scrambled backward, already running calculations in his head.

Explosion quirk. Radius approximately five metres per blast. Recoil suggests he can chain detonations for mobility. Estimated closing speed: fast. Very, very fast.

Probability of survival in direct combat: 2%.

"EVERYONE FALL BACK TO POSITION BRAVO!!" the leader screamed. "TWINS, COVER! SLIMY, PIT! BIGEE, SUPPLIES!!"

It was time for the backup plan.

Bakugo, on the other hand, didn't care about their plan.

He launched.

An explosion from both palms propelled him forward like a missile. He crossed twenty metres in under a second, closing the distance on the nearest target — the bulky kid — before the boy had taken three steps.

The bulky kid heard him coming. He spun around, eyes wide. His quirk activated — a large, durable bag materialised on his back. He reached into it, pulling out a handful of caltrops the team had prepared earlier.

He threw them at Bakugo's feet.

Bakugo didn't stop. He fired a downward blast that launched him over the caltrops entirely. He sailed through the air, flipped, and came down on the bulky kid with an explosion-powered right hook.

BOOM.

The punch connected with the kid's guard. It didn't do much. The explosion blew through his defense. He was launched off his feet and slammed into a tree so hard the trunk cracked. He slid to the ground, unconscious.

One down.

The twin brothers came from the left. Their quirk activated — camouflage. Their bodies shimmered and vanished, blending perfectly into the jungle foliage.

They moved in silence, circling around Bakugo from opposite sides. One reached for a vine net they had prepared. Other observed Bakugo.

Bakugo stood in the clearing. He couldn't see them.

He didn't need to.

He raised both hands above his head.

"Too slow."

He brought his palms together and fired an omnidirectional blast.

BOOM.

The explosion expanded in a sphere. Trees bent, bushes flattened, and dirt erupted in a ring around him. The shockwave stripped the clearing bare.

And it stripped the camouflage off the twins.

The blast wave disrupted their quirk. Their bodies flickered, glitched, and became visible.

For a moment, nobody moved. The twins had never been exposed before. Their camouflage had never failed. In every practice run, every scenario the leader had calculated, the twins were the trump card.

Bakugo had stripped that advantage in one move. Without even knowing they were there.

Bakugo turned left first.

He closed the gap in one explosion-boosted step. His palm slammed into the first brother's chest. The detonation wasn't full power — just enough to send the kid flying backward into a boulder.

The second brother panicked. He threw a bola at Bakugo. It was a perfect throw. If it had landed on anyone else, it would have worked.

Bakugo caught it. The weighted ropes wrapped around his fist. He yanked, pulling the brother off balance and stumbling forward. Bakugo met him halfway with a knee to the stomach.

The brother folded. Bakugo grabbed him by the collar, spun, and hurled him into his twin. Both brothers collided, hit the ground together, and didn't get up.

Three down, two more to go.

The slime girl was at the pit. She had reactivated her quirk and filled the pit with slime, somehow hoping Bakugo would fall into it. The same trap that had caught Ojiro.

She stood behind it, hands raised, her hair writhing like living tentacles. Strands of slime shot toward Bakugo. She was throwing everything at him.

If she could just pin him for a second. Just one second. He'd fall into the pit like the others.

Bakugo blasted sideways, dodging the first strand. A second one caught his ankle. The gel tightened instantly, hardening around his shoe.

He looked down at it.

Then he looked at the girl, and smiled like a manic.

"Nice try."

He exploded his own foot. The explosion vaporised the slime, shocking the girl. In that half-second of hesitation, Bakugo was already in front of her.

He grabbed a fistful of her gel-hair as she screamed. More slime surged toward him from every direction.

Bakugo, seeing this, detonated both palms simultaneously.

BOOM.

The explosion burned through every strand of slime attached to him. The gel evaporated in the heat. The girl was thrown backward hard, finally stopping in an unconscious state fifteen metres away.

Four down.

The short leader was alone.

He stood at the edge of the clearing, confused. Not knowing what to do and how to deal with this monster.

His team. Which was carefully assembled and mathematically optimised. They were scattered around him. All defeated.

The fight had lasted less than a minute.

Bakugo walked toward him with a crazy smile on his face.

The leader's mind raced. Numbers, angles, probabilities.

Blast radius: too wide to dodge at this range. Reaction time: I'm too slow. Teammates: down. Escape routes: none. Available weapons: none.

Probability of winning: 0%.

He took a step back.

"W-wait," the leader stammered. "We surrender. You can have the points. All of them. Just-"

Bakugo stopped in front of him. He looked down at the short kid.

"You set a trap," Bakugo said. His voice was low. "You waited in the bushes and caught hero students with tricks."

The leader swallowed. "Y-yes."

Bakugo leaned in.

"That was smart."

The leader blinked.

Then Bakugo flicked him on the forehead, which sent the student stumbling backward and falling on his ass.

"But you picked the wrong target."

Five drones descended into the clearing. And picked up the defeated team and flew away.

In the stadium, the crowd erupted.

Present Mic's voice shook the arena. "KATSUKI BAKUGO JUST DISMANTLED AN ENTIRE FIVE-MAN TEAM IN UNDER SIXTY SECONDS!! THE SAME TEAM THAT TOOK OUT HIS CLASSMATE!!"

Aizawa, calm as ever. "He identified the threats, neutralised the camouflage users, removed the support quirk, and neutralised the restraint user. Nicely done by Bakugo."

The leaderboard has been updated.

1st: Todoroki Shoto: 25 pts

2nd: Bakugo Katsuki: 15 pts

The crowd roared.

Bakugo stood in the ruined clearing. Rethinking the fight he just had, and after finalizing his thoughts, he cracked his neck.

He looked towards the centre of the jungle, his grin back on his face.

Somewhere out there, there's a bastard worth a thousand points.

His grin widened.

"I will get you chicken wings."
