"So, about that bounty hunter and Peter Quill you mentioned?"
At three-thirty in the afternoon, Adam looked at the empty room, reached out, and telekinetically drew the Old Broker into his palm:
"I imagine you wouldn't try to fool me, otherwise, you'll learn the consequences of wasting half an hour of my time!"
"Mr. Adam, please don't be angry, listen to me, I would never dare to fool you.
Something must have gone wrong; I'll immediately use all my channels to help you find Peter Quill."
The Old Broker, held in the air like a chick, quickly plastered on a fawning smile.
These past two days, he had subtly investigated Adam's identity and learned about the deeds behind Adam's title, the Destroyer Merchant. If he angered Adam, he might truly be killed on the spot.
"I'll give you an hour. If you can't find him, you can retire early."
Adam instantly Apparated back to the Orion with the Old Broker, tossed him onto the lawn, and continued his training.
The Old Broker, finding himself suddenly in another place, felt that Adam was truly terrifying and dared not show the slightest slack.
Wiping the sweat from his forehead, he immediately began using his communicator and various connections to search for Peter Quill's whereabouts.
Finally, half an hour later, he had a breakthrough.
"He was arrested by the Nova Corps and thrown into prison for fighting in the street?"
Adam was speechless upon hearing the Old Broker's explanation.
"Which prison?"
"Kyln Prison, the Nova Empire's highest security-level prison," the Old Broker respectfully replied.
Adam nodded:
"Give me the coordinates. Consider the mission complete, and you don't need to return the five million deposit."
"Thank you, thank you, Mr. Adam."
The Old Broker's worry immediately turned to joy.
Not having to be killed and still earning an extra four million was naturally the best possible outcome.
After the Old Broker left the coordinates for Kyln Prison, Adam threw the Old Broker off the spaceship, then had the Orion head directly to Kyln Prison.
Although there were some unexpected turns, it didn't seem to be a major problem.
Two hours later, a super prison fortress floating in the center of an asteroid field appeared before Adam's eyes.
"I wonder if Drax the Destroyer is inside right now. If he is, then I'll have most of the Guardians of the Galaxy members assembled."
Adam stored the Orion into Primordial Space, then became invisible and flew directly towards the cosmic prison.
He actually didn't intend to deliberately gather the Guardians of the Galaxy members, but he wondered if it was truly such a coincidence, or if certain predetermined destinies always unfold in the Marvel Universe.
The ones imprisoned with Star-Lord for fighting were none other than Rocket Raccoon and Treant Groot.
His existence had altered some people's fates, but without constant interference, many people's destinies would revert to their predetermined paths.
Just as if he were to directly kill Star-Lord now, the Guardians of the Galaxy might never appear.
If he merely took Star-Lord away, and after dealing with Ego, allowed Star-Lord to return to his original life, it's highly probable that the future members of the Guardians of the Galaxy would reunite due to various reasons.
For Adam, it didn't really matter. As long as fate wasn't developing in a negative direction and didn't conflict with his interests, he saw no need to change anything.
In fact, he thought this was quite good.
The formation of the Guardians of the Galaxy allowed a group of lonely people to become friends, healing each other through their interactions, which was not a bad destiny at all.
"Just delivered? Perfect."
Apparating inside the prison, Adam grabbed a guard and quickly learned Star-Lord's location through Legilimency.
Because the Orion's flight speed far exceeded that of the Nova Empire's transport ships, Star-Lord and the others had arrived only about ten minutes before him and were currently undergoing their pre-incarceration physical examinations.
"Alohomora, Stupefy."
With the Alohomora and Stupefy leading the way, wherever he passed, no matter how high-tech the door, it would automatically open, and no matter how heavily armed the soldiers, they would fall unconscious.
At his current level, casting magic no longer required specific gestures; a thought was enough for magic to manifest.
Moreover, there was no longer any visible magical light, as there had been initially; the entire area covered by his mental power would be affected by his magic.
This meant that enemies might be affected before they even saw him.
To avoid being affected by his magic, one would need either sufficiently high mental power to detect it and escape the area of effect, or strong enough physical resistance to withstand the magic's effects.
To meet either of those conditions in this World would require at least a Celestial-level standard.
His magical proficiency reaching this level was largely thanks to Tenten's magic exchanges with Hiiragizawa Eriol, and the vast amount of magic knowledge acquired in the Fairy Tail World.
The Harry Potter World, the Cardcaptor Sakura World, and the Fairy Tail World, each with their unique magic systems, merged to create Adam's current magic.
Adding to that the magic of Kamar-Taj, although the Dimensional Demon Godss involved couldn't be learned from, their magical principles greatly inspired him.
If one disregarded Ki and other abilities, as a magician alone, Adam's current strength was formidable.
Furthermore, his deep study of magic had given him a significant grasp of the World's laws.
In a few more years, once he had fully understood the magic of various Worlds, he might even be able to actively traverse the Multiverse using magic.
After all, Clow Reed from the Cardcaptor Sakura World could traverse the Multiverse and enter other parallel Worlds. With his combined knowledge of magic from multiple Worlds, he would only be stronger than Clow Reed.
"Hey, don't touch my walkman, you bastard!"
As soon as he passed through a thick lockdown door, Adam heard an angry roar from a man.
Looking up, he saw in a nearby room a sturdy young man of twenty-seven or twenty-eight being shocked repeatedly on the floor by a prison guard with an electric baton, while a Treant and a small Rocket Raccoon stood beside him, handcuffed.
"Star-Lord, Treant Groot, and Rocket Raccoon."
Adam instantly guessed the identities of the three.
With a flash, he appeared before the prison guard who was electrocuting Star-Lord, then with a single glance, he made him and the other guards watching the scene all fall unconscious.
"Hello, Peter Quill!"
"You know me? Who are you?"
Peter, recovering from his convulsions, looked at the fallen guards and Adam standing before him, a puzzled expression on his face.
Adam reached out and pulled him up:
"My name is Adam. I'm sort of your fellow countryman, from Earth."
"Earth?"
A fleeting image of his mother, who had died of cancer, flashed through Star-Lord's mind. After a moment of stunned, he replied:
"Thanks for the help. Are you a criminal here too?"
"No, I'm here to get you out."
Adam waved his hand, and the high-tech electronic handcuffs on Star-Lord's wrists immediately unlocked and fell off.
