Chapter 360 - Chapter 361: Gamora and Nebula’s Reward

"An interstellar bandit?"

Gamora glanced at Star-Lord, immediately discerning from his attire that he was merely an insignificant Raider.

As one of the Universe's top spies, she had relevant data on anyone even slightly well-known in her mind.

And Star-Lord, this interstellar bandit, was clearly not in her database.

Furthermore, Star-Lord's clothing and some iconic items on him indicated that he was a Raider, and a rather down-on-his-luck one at that.

As for the treeman and animal-person beside him, she did have some impression of them.

They seemed to be rather famous bounty hunters, though their fame wasn't for their strength, but for their ability to break out of prison.

Finally, she looked at Adam, the only person she couldn't see through.

Her database had no record of this person, yet his strength was terrifyingly immense; he easily crushed Ronan and took down all the Kree soldiers on the entire Dark Aster.

He also possessed teleportation-like abilities, and seemed to have some connection with the Nova Corps' Eighth Legion.

But judging from his attitude just now, he didn't seem to be from the Nova Empire, more like he was just helping out.

Ignoring Star-Lord, Gamora walked directly up to Adam and probed:

"Since you know our relationship with Thanos, you should understand the consequences if you harm us."

This person captured her and Nebula, yet didn't kill them or hand them over to the Nova Empire, so he must have other motives. By saying this now, she was trying to see if she could extract some useful information.

Adam looked at Gamora and smiled:

"You don't need to test me. I'm not afraid of Thanos, and I also know that you've always wanted to kill Thanos to avenge your parents, but you've endured humiliation because you weren't confident you could succeed."

At the same time, he looked at Nebula, who was stealthily hiding behind Gamora, out of her line of sight, ready to counterattack at any moment:

"It's the same for you. I know you've always wanted to kill Thanos because your body was modified, and you've always wanted a sister, but Gamora always prioritized victory, causing your body to be modified.

That's why you've always been so antagonistic towards her."

Hearing Adam's words, Gamora immediately turned to look at Nebula, looking surprised.

And Nebula, after having her true thoughts revealed, instantly panicked and vehemently denied it aloud:

"You, you… you're talking nonsense! I am Father's most loyal daughter! And I don't want any sister! I just want to defeat Gamora and make Father understand that I am his strongest weapon!"

"No need to deny it. I forgot to tell you, my eyes can easily see through all your disguises, read your minds, and even memories deep within your minds."

Adam pointed to his eyes and said.

To enhance his persuasiveness, he instantly changed his eyes back to their Rinnegan form.

In fact, he wasn't lying. Although the Rinnegan doesn't have Legilimency ability, it actually does, but it requires extracting the Soul to read. However, his Legilimency spell could easily read minds.

Previously, his Legilimency spell couldn't read long-past memories, only thought activities, but now, with the improvement of his magic and magical strength, he could delve deeper into memory extraction.

"You truly have many abilities. You're right, I am indeed not truly loyal to Thanos, but he is too powerful."

Gamora looked at Adam again, not denying it like Nebula.

As the Universe's version of the Black Widow, a master spy who even found the location of the Soul Stone through her own intelligence system, Gamora had naturally encountered this Legilimency ability before.

Since her mind had been seen through, there was no longer any need for pretense.

"So, what is your purpose?"

"Hmm, I think you two sisters are quite good, and I want to hire you to do something for me. Like them, I will give you appropriate compensation."

Adam smiled and replied.

Gamora and Nebula wouldn't actually play too significant a role in him dealing with Ego.

He just happened to encounter them, so he decided to reassemble the original Guardians of the Galaxy crew. This way, he could have some fun during his monotonous Training.

He was also human; Training alone for too long always led to some loneliness.

Orion, though humane, was still newly born and too deferential to him, like a maid.

Having these Guardians of the Galaxy together could prevent him from being so bored during the remaining two and a half years.

"Compensation?"

Gamora's eyes narrowed.

Adam looked at Gamora:

"Peter, Rocket, and Groot want money, so I'm giving them 100 million each.

Drax doesn't want money; he wants Ronan's life, so I came and captured Ronan for him.

If the compensation you and Nebula want is to kill Thanos, then I can also help you deal with Thanos after I've finished my business."

This time, when he left Earth, he originally intended to eliminate Thanos along the way.

Thanos was always slaughtering Planets anyway. He just needed to find a time when Thanos was invading a Planet to act, and he could simultaneously deal with Thanos and also unlock a new template.

There was no need to wait six or seven years until Thanos invaded Earth to deal with him.

At this time, Thanos, with only one Mind Stone, was not much stronger than Ronan in his eyes.

It was just the difference between a cockroach and an ant.

Crucially, the progress bar for him acquiring new templates would unlock a new template once filled, and would not accumulate to the next progress bar.

For example, if unlocking a new template required 100 million Justice Points.

Then if he acquired 1 billion Justice Points all at once, he wouldn't unlock ten new templates; he would only unlock one new template, then the progress bar would clear, and he would need to acquire another 100 million Justice Points.

So, even if he saved the entire Universe now, he could still only unlock one new template.

However, the good thing was that from the beginning until now, the difficulty of this progress bar had not increased; there was no troublesome phenomenon where the more templates he unlocked, the more Justice Points were needed.

That would be truly bad, because it would mean he might not even be able to fill one progress bar even if he saved a Universe in the future.

This way, it was still fine; as long as he encountered some slightly larger events and rescued enough life, he could unlock new templates.

Just right, after taking down Thanos, he could also get the Mind Stone and, upon returning to Earth, enhance Wanda's strength.

"Are you serious? Honestly, I don't think you're his match!"

Gamora was stunned when she heard Adam's words, then replied with a serious expression.

Adam's displayed strength was indeed impressive; he easily defeated Ronan and possessed abilities such as immobilization, unconsciousness, teleportation, and Legilimency.

However, Thanos's strength far exceeded Ronan's; in addition to his invincible Universe fleet and various modified combat units, there were also the famous Black Order.
