Finding himself surrounded by the figures, Adam moved quickly and found himself on one of the rooftops; the figures followed him almost instantly.
He sensed a murderous intent emanating from each of the figures chasing him, but he didn't care in the least. Adam looked down at the streets, littered with corpses.
He let out a long sigh.
He remembered that, in his past life, he had heard about the scandal that would occur several months later, in which Princess Alexandra was involved and had been killed in the attack.
No one ever found out which force or kingdom was behind the attack; the truth never came to light. Besides, he didn't think much of it anyway.
Ahh, it seems I have no other choice.
Adam looked away from the streets:
"Asterin, what do you think of this?"
Asterin scanned the streets with her golden eyes and replied:
"They're quite organized; they set up a barrier and then vanished without a trace."
