"Then," I said in a serious voice while holding the two babies in my arms, making sure they remained calm.
"From now on, these two babies will no longer be Maki and Mai of the Zenin Clan." I looked straight at Naobito, my gaze sharp and without hesitation. "And the Zenin Clan will not attempt to take them back."
Naobito closed the bottle again, his movements as calm as before.
"Of course," Naobito said with a faint smirk, a smile that couldn't be fully trusted. "We have always been fair in our agreements."
Hearing those words, I almost laughed out loud.
But I managed to hold myself back, leaving only a slight curve at the corner of my lips.
Because hearing the words "Zenin Clan" and "fair" in the same sentence truly sounded very strange to me.
"Alright," I said casually, my tone turning light again, "even if you try to take them back, I won't let that happen."
The atmosphere in the room immediately changed.
The members of the Hei frowned at once, some of them even tensing their bodies unconsciously.
They all sensed the threat hidden behind my words, a threat that didn't need to be spoken loudly to be understood.
I then stood up while carrying Maki and Mai in both of my arms. Their small bodies felt light, warm, and almost motionless, only rising and falling slowly with their calm breathing.
Without saying anything else to the Zenin Clan members still in the room, I immediately used teleportation.
My body disappeared in an instant, as if vanishing without a trace— even the air where I had been standing was barely disturbed.
In the next moment, I appeared on top of a rooftop in a different part of the city. The change in location happened so quickly that the sensation of space folding felt brief yet sharp.
The wind blew quite strongly there, brushing against my face and making my clothes flutter slightly. From that height, rows of buildings could be seen beginning to be covered in the light of dusk, with some streetlights already glowing dimly.
But I didn't stop for long.
As soon as my feet touched the rough, cold surface of the roof, I immediately ran in a certain direction. My steps were fast but controlled, my body slightly leaning forward to maintain balance, while the two babies in my arms were held carefully so they wouldn't be shaken.
A few seconds later, I used teleportation again.
My body disappeared once more.
Moments later, I appeared somewhere else—this time on the roof of a lower building. Without even glancing back, I immediately ran away from my point of arrival.
My feet struck the rooftop in a rapid rhythm, and before anyone could notice my presence, I moved again to the next location.
I kept repeating the same pattern.
Teleport, run, then teleport again.
Each movement was done in a different direction, with inconsistent distances and short intervals. There was no straight path, no pattern that could be followed. I did all of it to ensure that no one could track my movements.
If someone tried to trace the energy of my teleportation, they would only find a series of random locations with no connection to one another—fragments of a trail that I deliberately made chaotic.
After several relocations, I finally appeared on a remote beach. The atmosphere there was far quieter compared to the city.
The sound of ocean waves gently hitting the sand repeated over and over, creating a calming rhythm. The sea breeze carried a distinct salty scent, clearly noticeable in the night air that had begun to settle.
The two baby girls in my arms stirred slightly—one of them weakly moved her fingers, yet they both remained asleep without opening their eyes.
However, I didn't stay there for long.
My body disappeared once again.
This time, when I reappeared, I was already inside our temporary base in Akiruno City.
I appeared right in the living room, silently, as if I had emerged straight out of nothingness.
The room felt warm and calm. The light from the television cast a soft bluish glow across the space, reflecting off the walls and the furniture around it. The sound of the TV was low, just enough to fill the silence without being distracting.
When I arrived, Mei Mei, Shizuka, and Rika were sitting casually on the sofa, watching television. Their postures were relaxed, completely different from the tense situation I had just left behind.
"You're back?" Mei Mei asked, shifting her gaze toward me as I appeared. Her expression remained calm, though a hint of curiosity flickered in her eyes.
"Are they Maki and Mai?" Shizuka immediately asked as she stood up from the sofa and walked closer. Her steps were quick, but she clearly held herself back from rushing too much.
Shizuka then looked at the two baby girls in my arms, her curiosity obvious. Her eyes widened slightly as she carefully observed their small faces.
Both babies were asleep, their tiny faces peaceful, without the slightest sign of tension.
"Yes," I replied with a nod. "They are Maki and Mai."
"Wow… they're so cute!" Shizuka said with a faint smile, her voice unconsciously softening.
Without waiting long, Shizuka carefully took Maki from my arms. Her hands moved slowly as she supported the baby's small body with great care before gently holding her against her chest.
Rika, who had been watching the whole time, also stepped closer. Her expression was calmer, but her interest was clear.
"From now on, they will be all of our children," Rika said with a small smile, her voice soft yet certain.
After that, Rika took Mai from my arms and held her carefully, supporting the baby's head more naturally, as if she was already used to it.
Seeing that scene made me chuckle softly, my shoulders shaking slightly.
That's true.
Our family really has gotten bigger now.
"Well then… does that mean I'm the first mom?" Mei Mei said from the sofa in a teasing tone, the corner of her lips lifting slightly, making the atmosphere feel a bit more lively.
"What! No!" Shizuka immediately shook her head quickly, her hair swaying slightly. "I'm the first mom!"
Mei Mei narrowed her eyes a little, the corner of her lips still raised, clearly unwilling to lose. "Hey, I'm the oldest here."
"But I was the first to hold them!" Shizuka shot back quickly, her tone rising slightly, as if that was an unquestionable reason.
I just let out a soft sigh as I watched them start arguing like that, my shoulders dropping slightly. The atmosphere had just been calm, and now it had turned into this again.
"That's enough," I said, shaking my head lightly. "You'll wake them up."
I pointed at the two babies sleeping in their arms. Their small bodies looked so peaceful, their breathing soft and steady—completely undeserving of being disturbed by such a silly argument.
"Let them rest in the same room as Mimiko and Nanako."
My words immediately stopped the small argument between Mei Mei and Shizuka. They both fell silent for a moment, exchanging glances that still carried a hint of rivalry, but in the end, they relented.
Shizuka and Rika exchanged a brief look before nodding lightly.
A moment later, the two of them walked toward one of the rooms. Their steps were more careful than before, making sure not to wake the babies in their arms. The door opened slowly, then closed again with barely any sound.
The room became quiet once more.
Meanwhile, I walked toward my own room. My steps were unhurried, relaxed—my body finally able to ease a little after everything that had happened.
