He watched, breath caught in his throat, as Dax faced down three blood-drenched angels without a flicker of fear crossing his face — him, his blade, and two beasts of apocalyptic scale standing at his back like they'd been carved from myth itself.
"Even his blade isn't natural," Merlin murmured to no one. "No ordinary weapon should be capable of wounding an angel like that. The death radiating off it — I can feel it pressing against my own mind from here."
