Ezra
"Ezra, Ezra, Ezra."
My eyes flew open at the sound of my name.
I shot upright, my chest rising fast as I tried to catch my breath. I looked around slowly.
Everything was black. Completely pitch black.
The type of black you'd see in those nightmares were you're falling from a cliff and just before you hit the ground, you wake up with that strange sinking sensation. Only this time, I'm not waking up and the scene before me looks very much real. Where am I?
"Hello?" I called out.
But something else made the hairs on my skin stand. My voice... it's different.
"Ezra… Ezra… Ezra…"
I froze.
That wasn't me.
Beads of sweat began forming on my skin.
What sort of game is this?
My heart started beating faster. I turned in a slow circle, trying to find where it was coming from.
"Who's there?" I asked.
The voice came again and again and again.
"Ezra… Ezra…"
"Stop that!" I snapped.
I swallowed, my throat dry. My hands clenched at my sides as I forced myself to stay calm.
