Those eyes…..
I blinked hard and my eyes finally adjusted.
Adrien was sitting, bending over me and watching me intently. The torchlight in the dungeon made his face look sharper than before and for some reason, it really unnerved me. The entire cell was so cold, it felt like there was an otherworldly presence in the room.
"Finally, you're awake," he said casually.
His eyes shifted slightly in a strangely familiar way. One eye was darker than the other. I noticed it clearly this time.
He noticed me staring and pulled away from me.
"Sorry about that," he added. "I have a rare eye condition. My eyes don't match but they're both the same color but one is darker than the other. I can manipulate it during morning hours but at night, they have a mind of their own."
I swallowed and sat up properly on the cold floor.
"It's fine," I muttered.
My throat felt dry.
Adrien leaned his head back against the wall. "I tried waking you earlier. You have to get ready.."
