Kael leaned on the windowsill of the Boreas estate, chin resting on his arms. Beside him, Eris mimicked his posture, the two of them looking down in perfect synchronization. Despite their young age, they already radiated the domestic aura of an old married couple.

Below them, Philip Boreas Greyrat was pacing around a dark-skinned Beast Race woman with the energy of a hound in heat. With her twitching beast ears and an explosive figure that tested the structural integrity of her minimal clothing, she struck every one of Philip's aesthetic "fetishes."

"Is this the new guard Father found?" Eris muttered, her tone sharp with suspicion that her father had simply bought himself a new mistress.

"That lady is a Sword King," Kael noted, his eyes calculating the tension on the thin strips of leather across her chest. "They say she was a member of the S-rank party, the Black Wolf's Fang."

"Kael!" Eris snapped, noticing his "researching" gaze and swinging a punch over his head.

Below, the woman looked up. Ghislaine Dedoldia narrowed her eyes, her animalistic intuition spiking. Strange. I felt a hint of danger... from that kid?

The Despicable Proposal

Kael led a reluctant Eris downstairs to meet the newcomer. Up close, Ghislaine's "northern and southern hemispheres" were even more impressive.

"Just call me Ghislaine, kid," she said, shaking Kael's hand. She exerted a bit of pressure, and the feedback of strength she received made her grin.

"Sword King? You don't look like much," Eris challenged, her confidence peaked by her recent "Beginner" rank certification.

Philip tried to keep a straight face, but his voice was audibly strained. He pulled Kael aside for a whisper. "Kael, you can't have designs on Ghislaine. I plan to propose to her."

Kael stared at him. "You just met her. You're just lusting after her body. You're despicable."

"I am a man, Kael! Despicable comes with the territory," Philip whispered back, unashamed. "If Paul could land a woman like her, why can't I?"

The Spar: Water and Flame

Before Philip could finish his self-justification, Eris was sent flying through the air, landing squarely in Kael's arms. Ghislaine had defeated her in a single, blurring move.

"Kid, interested in a spar?" Ghislaine asked Kael. Her single exposed eye held a wild, predatory sharpness.

"Only swordsmanship," Kael agreed, catching a wooden sword in a gust of wind.

Ghislaine didn't hesitate. She moved like a teleporting shadow—the pure, unadulterated speed of the Sword God Style. She didn't even use a high-level technique; her Beast Race physique alone provided strength comparable to a dragon.

Kael sidestepped, his sword moving with a fluid lightness that parried the "Sword King's" strike. Ghislaine's ears twitched. She could hear Kael's heart—it wasn't just beating; it was thundering, circulating blood like a rushing river.

She unleashed a sky full of afterimages. Her intuition captured every flaw, yet Kael's defense was like a waterfall. Drawing on the Water God Style refined by Sandrone's algorithms, Kael's blade flowed from drifting sea spray to piercing droplets.

Stalemate.

Ghislaine's Battle Qi flared. The air grew heavy, the pressure rising to a level no "Advanced" swordsman could bridge. Kael met her gaze, his wrist turning. The "river" in his lungs ignited.

"Sword God Style?!" Ghislaine exclaimed.

Kael's breathing shifted to the searing heat of Flame Breathing.

"Ninth Form: Purgatory!"

The wooden swords met. Under the combined pressure of Battle Qi and natural mana, the ironwood blades shattered into dust. Ghislaine retreated several steps, her boots leaving deep imprints in the bluestone. Kael slid back meters, the webs of his hands split and bleeding.

The Cheat Code

Philip stared at the training ground, which now looked like it had been hit by a hurricane. "Is Kael even human?" he whispered.

Eris ran to Kael, frantic at the sight of blood in the snow. But by the time she reached him, the wounds were gone.

Chantless Healing was Kael's ultimate safety net. With a mana pool that had surpassed the King-tier and a recovery speed ten times that of a normal mage, he was practically immortal. He looked at Ghislaine and gave a small, respectful nod. He had lost the exchange by a hair, but he had gained the data he needed.
