Chapter 49 - CHAPTER 49: Illusion

"Why did you suddenly stop talking?" Morgan looked at Arthur, who had fallen silent, and asked with a puzzled expression.

"I feel like I shouldn't say anything about anyone right now."

"What do you mean? If you say you prefer my personality, I won't cause you any trouble," Morgan said with a smile.

So that means if I say I prefer my Master's personality, she'll cause me trouble…? Arthur understood the implication behind Morgan's words and couldn't help but complain inwardly.

It looked like a multiple-choice question, but in reality, there was only one correct answer.

"Of course," Morgan said with a smile. "In fact, it's an easy choice, isn't it? Your Master isn't here. Anyone who isn't an idiot knows who to choose."

"Very well, answer already." Seeing Arthur hesitate, Morgan urged him again.

"I choose Cú Chulainn," Art said. "Although he always seems disdainful at first, he's actually just a proud guy who's very kind to his friends."

Morgan: "…"

For a brief moment, the way she looked at Arthur was filled with resentment.

"And why are you asking me this kind of question, Morgan? Are you going to teach me or not? If not, I'm leaving." It was rare for Arthur to gather the courage to confront Morgan like this.

"Oh my, it's so unusual to see you dare speak to me like that." Morgan looked at Arthur with a hint of surprise, murmuring to herself, "So even he has an explosive temper?"

"Of course. After all, I'm a man," Arthur said firmly.

"A man…" Morgan sized Arthur up for a few moments, then suddenly laughed. "Alright, I really can't do anything to you. I won't ask you that kind of question again, don't worry."

Seeing Arthur look relieved, Morgan continued, "By the way, do you particularly like your Master? A kind of affection that transcends the master-disciple relationship?"

What did I get myself into…?

Arthur turned away in silence.

"What's wrong?" Morgan asked, grabbing Arthur by the collar as she took a step forward.

"I'm going back," Arthur said with a frown.

"You don't want to learn new skills?" Morgan teased.

"I'm not learning anymore!" Arthur said, turning around immediately, and then—

In the very next second, he found himself completely unable to move.

"Oh, heavens, it was just a joke. You get irritated so easily." Morgan sighed helplessly and slowly walked forward. "Now I'll teach you the third skill."

"With it, you can imprison those weaker than you, and you can also delay those who are stronger or have high magic resistance. Of course, it also requires a large amount of magical energy to support it."

"But you can't use it for bad things," Morgan teased with a chuckle. "After all… this skill can be used to mess with ordinary girls…"

"Oh, right, it works very well on boys too." As she finished speaking, she circled Arthur, raised a finger, and gently pushed him, causing him to involuntarily lean backward.

"Look, I could do whatever I want. Isn't that quite powerful?" Morgan sat down beside Arthur, who was lying flat on his back on the grass, unable to move.

She raised a finger, and Arthur floated up. Morgan glanced again in a certain direction and muttered to herself, "Has she already left?"

"What?" Arthur asked, confused, still not understanding what had happened.

"It's nothing." Morgan shook her head.

"Then put me down now," Arthur said helplessly.

This feeling of being completely unable to move was truly uncomfortable. So even after more than three months, his magic resistance was still this low? If it were Artoria, she probably wouldn't be in such a miserable state—at the very least, she wouldn't be completely paralyzed, right?

Morgan released her fingers, and Arthur instantly fell face-first into the ground.

He covered his nose, feeling a sharp pain. When he looked up at Morgan, he saw her innocent expression and blinked. "Didn't you tell me to put you down?"

"Couldn't you be a little gentler?" Arthur suppressed his anger.

"You didn't tell me to be gentle," Morgan said, wearing a completely innocent look.

Arthur rolled his eyes, too tired to argue with her over such a pointless matter.

Without a doubt, this woman was simply taking revenge on him because his answer hadn't satisfied her.

"By the way, Morgan, this skill requires a lot of magical power to work, right?" Arthur suddenly remembered something. He had used a similar binding spell before, but that restraint was completely different from Morgan's. Simply put, Morgan's was instantaneous, while his required a casting time.

"If I encounter someone with strong magic resistance, will it be ineffective?"

Morgan pondered for a moment, then nodded slightly. "That's true. With your current magical power, you can't even restrict someone's movements for a brief moment, much less immobilize them. However, it's quite effective against ordinary people."

"I can deal with ordinary people without any restraints at all," Arthur remarked sarcastically.

"That makes sense…" Morgan thought for a moment. "Very well then, let me teach you another skill."

"What skill?" Arthur asked.

The moment he finished speaking, he suddenly felt a light tap on his shoulder.

He turned his head and saw Morgan smiling at him.

That's strange… wasn't Morgan in front of me? When did she get behind me?

"What are you looking at?" Morgan asked, her voice coming from the front.

Arthur paused, looked behind him, then looked at Morgan standing in front of him.

Two Morgans?!

"What's going on? Is this a clone?" Arthur asked, somewhat confused.

"Two Morgan le Fays—double the happiness, right?" Morgan said with a smile. As she smiled, the Morgan behind Arthur smiled as well, their expressions perfectly synchronized.

"You can call it an illusion."

Arthur's eyes gleamed slightly. To be honest, he was quite interested in this ability. It was difficult to distinguish between the real and the fake, which could be surprisingly effective in battle.

"First, figure out which one is the illusion, and then I'll teach you," Morgan said with a smile.

"This one." Arthur pointed at the Morgan behind him.

"Oh? Are you sure?" Morgan raised an eyebrow.

"I'm sure." Arthur nodded firmly.

Either way, there's no problem if I'm wrong, so it doesn't matter.

"Congratulations."

Morgan gently took Arthur's hand and, under his surprised gaze, slowly guided it toward her chest.

Their eyes met. Morgan's voice was seductive, her eyes captivating.

"…"

But before Arthur could even touch her, he suddenly felt the woman in front of him vanish. Then, a crow flapped its wings and appeared before him.

"You really are a pervert," Morgan said mockingly from behind him.

"Were you really looking forward to that just now? Unfortunately… you were wrong."

"I'm very disappointed in you now, my apprentice." Her voice suddenly changed, and Arthur stared at the woman in front of him in disbelief.

"Master?!"

Scáthach smiled teasingly. "Do you like me, apprentice?"

Arthur immediately realized what was happening.

No… this isn't Scáthach—it's another illusion created by Morgan.
