TROY
Five years ago.
"How are you feeling about tomorrow son?" My father waltz into my study without knocking like he owned the place.
With a smile on his face, he gestured for me to follow after him. I sighed, putting down the pen I'd been holding for the past hour.
"I feel fine…" I answered, feeling the weight of exhaustion rest over me.
Tomorrow was the day I finally made Ruby my Luna. I looked forward to it like every Alpha would. We'd been together for a year now, life finally made sense.
Except for the work load that awaited me, never ending, I was a happy man.
But I should have known this reality would be short lived.
I should have known my father coming in here was a bad sign. He was never the bearer of good news from the get go.
But I followed, telling myself nothing could ruin tomorrow for Ruby and I.
I was wrong.
