We stumbled into our room on the island, the door clicking shut behind us with a soft finality that made the rest of the world disappear completely.
The space was exactly as we had left it earlier — moonlight spilling generously through the large glass doors that opened onto the private balcony, the big bed still deliciously rumpled from the night before, and the faint, comforting scent of sea salt mixed with coconut lotion hanging sweetly in the air.
I was tipsy, pleasantly warm from all the drinks and the electric celebration on the beach, but my mind remained crystal clear. I was still perfectly able to recognize where the bed was, where the nightstand stood, and exactly what I needed from the man standing in front of me.
I turned to Miller the second the door was locked, grabbed the front of his shirt with both hands, and pulled him down into a kiss that had been building inside me for hours.
