Chapter 135 - The Enhanced Wand Test

Realizing Tom Riddle had started making small moves again, Adrian quickly reviewed the topics they'd just discussed, made corrections, and soon brought his Alchemy proficiency back up.

This wasn't the first time Adrian had discovered something similar.

When asking about simple tips or basic spells, the Horcrux diary answered honestly.

But when it came to knowledge of advanced spells, it was different. Tom would occasionally give wrong information on certain key points, which was hard to guard against.

Fortunately, with the supporting evidence of the system prompts, Adrian was able to catch it every time.

What depressed Adrian was that he still couldn't talk about this matter.

Because Tom Riddle had said at the very beginning that he was just a diary written by a young wizard, so it was normal for there to be some errors in understanding advanced knowledge.

Pointing it out wouldn't work and would only arouse the other side's suspicion.

In fact, Adrian didn't know that Tom Riddle, inside the Horcrux, was even more depressed. He'd never seen a young wizard who learned this quickly.

Knowledge that a normal person would learn in a few months could often be mastered by Adrian within days. If he didn't make some restrictions on advanced spell knowledge, his knowledge reserves wouldn't last long.

After discussing until late at night and analyzing a feasible solution, some ink stains gradually appeared on the Horcrux diary.

It's been a long time since I had such a pleasant discussion with anyone. You're the most gifted young wizard I've ever seen.

Adrian smiled. Don't think a few words of praise would make him forget that stumble from earlier.

However, on the surface, Adrian still pretended to be extremely happy and started writing with his quill.

Tom, thank you. You're also one of the wisest wizards I've ever seen...

After an insincere compliment, Adrian refused to disclose more outside information, claiming sleepiness. Instead, he closed the diary and hid it deep in the cabinet.

Even so, Adrian was still a bit worried about being in the same room with the Dark Lord.

The cover spell on the diary had been made a few days ago.

It's just that Adrian knew once it was used, it meant their currently good relationship would be completely broken, so he'd delayed using it.

A useful learning accelerator wasn't easy to find. To quickly improve his strength, taking some risks was worth it.

The next day, Adrian sorted out the content of last night's discussion with Tom Riddle and discussed implementation possibilities with Irene.

Irene was dizzy from being bombarded with so much information. After listening to Adrian's plan, her face became very strange.

If she remembered correctly, Adrian had only raised the issue of conflicting runic formulas with her yesterday, and already had a plan in just one day?

"Build a closed loop of runes and finally form an independent magic cycle?" After finally recovering, Irene began to seriously think about the feasibility of this plan.

"Yes. Since activating multiple runic formulas at the same time doesn't work, just separate them," Adrian explained.

According to Adrian's understanding, constructing a circular runic circuit was equivalent to turning active skills into passive skills.

Unfortunately, Adrian had only created a loop for concealment runes so far. This runic formula was very stable and hardly consumed much magic power, so it was less difficult to construct.

That's why he and Tom had figured it out in just one day.

The more Irene thought about it, the more possible it seemed, and she couldn't wait to start trying.

The experiment used hawthorn wood. Irene inscribed the circuit of the concealment runes on it, then tried to carve another simple runic formula. After activating it with magic power, faint black air came from the hawthorn wood. The magical fluctuations were negligibly low.

"It works!" Irene was excited as if she'd discovered a new treasure. In fact, it was almost the same. For Irene, any discovery related to runes was a huge gain.

After personally testing feasibility, Irene took out the wand soaked in special liquid, handed it to Adrian along with the carving knife, and solemnly reminded him, "You only have one hour to carve, and only one chance. If you fail, you may have to change wands."

Adrian nodded, knowing this was the most critical moment. He didn't hesitate to spend experience points to improve his abilities and devoted himself to the wand transformation.

Compared to normal wooden materials, the texture of the specially treated wand had become extremely soft. The wand itself was relatively slender, which caused considerable trouble for carving runes.

It took a full fifteen minutes before Adrian finally completed the wand transformation. He checked his work with satisfaction.

[Magic Item: Wand (Yew wood, Unicorn Hair, eleven and three-quarter inches)]

[Magic: Strong]

[Runic Circuit: Covert Casting (passively reduces magic fluctuation when casting spells)]

[Runic Sequence: Enhancement Formula (after activation, greatly increases the power of the next spell. Note: using twice consecutively within an hour will cause unexpected consequences!)]

[Compatibility: 100%]

[Description: This is a specially modified wand.]

The wand's attributes after transformation met Adrian's expectations. The only disappointment was the long cooldown time after activating the enhancement runes.

After working with Tom to develop this runic formula that could increase spell power, Adrian had been happy for a long time. He hadn't expected such a big limitation.

After waiting forty minutes and noticing the wand's texture had returned to normal, Adrian tried to activate the enhancement runes. He waved the wand and pointed at a cabinet to the side, ready to test the effect.

"Reducto!"

Dark red magical light flashed instantly. The next second, the mahogany cabinet exploded and turned into pieces of wood flying through the air, falling and floating down one after another...

In the small work area, sawdust filled the sky...

Adrian was very satisfied, the spell's power had at least doubled!

Normally, the Blasting Curse he cast couldn't achieve such an effect.

Adrian had also figured out the one-hour release interval limit.

Every time this runic formula was activated, it put a great burden on the wand itself. Continuous use might exceed the wand's carrying capacity. At that point, it might explode directly...

While Adrian was thinking, he suddenly felt something was wrong. That cabinet just now seemed to contain alchemy materials.

Sure enough, moments later, Adrian heard Irene's angry roar...
