Chapter 73 - Mirror of The Paradox

The Realm of Paradox

Ahan stepped deeper into the shifting corridor, its walls flowing like liquid silver. Every step he took created ripples in the floor, and those ripples chased ahead of him as if marking out a future he hadn't lived yet.

The air trembled.

The realm whispered.

Ahan of the Triad… The one who thinks in forks and possibilities… Come forth.

He swallowed hard. He had already passed two trials — the Test of Probability and the Test of Consequence — each more warped than the last. But now, the corridor widened into a vast circular chamber.

The Mirror Stood Alone

A single mirror gleamed in the center.

Tall.

Frameless.

Endlessly reflective.

But when Ahan approached…

His reflection didn't move with him.

It smiled first.

"Finally," the reflection said, stepping out of the mirror like walking through water.

"I was wondering when you'd catch up."

Ahan's jaw tightened. "I'm not fighting you."

"You're not supposed to," the reflection replied. "You're supposed to understand me."

He walked in a slow circle around Ahan — same height, same posture, same eyes… but colder.

The Unchosen Ahan

Reflection Ahan gestured, and the chamber transformed into a battlefield of shadows.

Ahan saw:

— A future where he betrayed Aryan and Abhi.

— A future where he joined the Overlord.

— A future where he rose as a ruler of the ruined world, crowned in broken Aether.

And at the center of those visions stood his reflection, laughing.

"That's not me," Ahan whispered.

"You sure?" his other self asked. "I am every decision you never made… but could have. And the more pressure you face, the more you resemble me."

Ahan clenched his fists. "I don't want control. I just want survival."

"That's what all tyrants say in the beginning."

Ahan froze.

That hit too close.

The Trial's Question

The visions shattered like glass.

The mirror realm collapsed back to white nothingness.

A cosmic voice roared above:

"WHAT MAKES A LEADER?"

His alternate self pointed at him.

"There's only one right answer."

Ahan thought of everything:

Aryan, reckless but brave

Abhi, silent but fierce

Himself, always calculating, always afraid of being wrong

The Masters, the Societies, the pressure, the war

He exhaled long and slow.

"A leader… isn't the strongest," Ahan said.

"It's the one who refuses to walk alone."

The mirror self blinked.

"And if your friends fall?"

"Then I fall pulling them up."

Silence.

Then — the reflection's cold mask cracked into a genuine smile.

"You passed."

He dissolved into light.

The Guardian Appears

Where the mirror had stood, a figure now rose — a guardian of swirling paradox energy, its body made of overlapping timelines.

It bowed deeply to Ahan.

"You have faced your darkest self without fear… and without arrogance."

The ground opened, revealing a floating, sealed cube of Aether.

His fragment.

Ahan reached for it —

— but just as his fingers touched the surface, the entire realm shuddered.

And a new voice, older than time itself, echoed through the chamber:

"THE FINAL JUDGMENT BEGINS."

A blinding light swallowed everything —

Aryan

Abhi

Ahan

All three trials collapse into one, converging toward the Architect's domain.
