Chapter 114 - The Path Of No Return

The wind in the northern valley had changed.

Its softness was gone; replaced with something metallic, like air scraping against rusted stone. The horizon ahead—where the walls of Shambhala once gleamed like polished ivory—now stood veiled under smoke columns and fractured silhouettes of collapsed watchtowers. The land that once echoed with chants of valor was reduced to a graveyard of silent debris.

The trio walked.

Not because their body favored motion—but because something deeper than muscle commanded it. Their steps were steady, and beyond every exhale trembled a truth:

This would be their final ascent together.

No one said it aloud. No one had to.

A narrow ridge welcomed them, stretching toward two giant arch-pillars marking the border entry into Shambhala's central stretch. The pillars were carved with runes—the same runes that once represented safe traversal between realms. Now, the carvings were disrupted, scarred, fractured like inscriptions trying desperately to retain sanctity.

Aryan slowed his pace.

His eyes rose toward the cracked crest of the left pillar, where the ancient sigil symbolizing immortality had faded. "They broke even this," he spoke, voice low, emotionless.

Abhi's fist tightened.

"They weren't trying to win a battle," he murmured. "They were trying to erase existence."

Ahaan remained quiet.

He simply walked forward.

Like defeat meant nothing. Like the flames behind meant nothing. Like destiny was already written—waiting.

Space widened.

Wind chilled.

And then—

A metallic murmur.

Not spoken language.

Not mechanical movement.

A synchronized resonance, like sharpened blades being drawn simultaneously.

Seven figures stood ahead.

Seven shadows beneath a deteriorating arch, wearing matte-black exoskeletal armor embedded with blue veins of kinetic conduits. Their helmets were layered in shape—almost animalistic—but the weapons in their hands were cold, calculated extensions of execution.

The moment they revealed themselves, the ground responded. Stones shivered, dust lifted, even the dead atmosphere seemed to hold its breath.

Abhi recognized them before anyone else.

"AlphaTech," he whispered.

Elite enforcers.

Created after the first invasion wave.

Instruments designed to complete unfinished exterminations.

Their unit leader stepped forward.

Cyan strips along his armor ignited like a living pulse.

"You three survived," he said, voice modulated, no tone, no humanity.

Aryan didn't answer.

He didn't need to.

The man continued—

"You will surrender your relics, kneel, and accept judgment. Your survival was not authorized. You represent contamination of the chosen evolution cycle."

Ahaan tilted his head.

"Surrender what we carry?" he asked softly.

"What we earned?"

"What belongs to us?"

He took a step forward.

"And kneel?"

The leader's visor flashed.

"This is not negotiation. This is compliance."

Aryan smirked—not juvenile arrogance—something sharper.

"If compliance was the goal…" he lifted his wristband, "…you should've killed everyone first."

That sentence struck.

Abhi took one step forward.

"You failed."

"And that failure… is why we are standing."

All seven units raised their weapons.

No countdown.

No threat.

Execution-mode.

The trio didn't move—not yet.

What followed was silence, thick enough to hold weight, until the wind shifted for an instant… and the moment it did—battle erupted.

AlphaTech surged at once.

Their motion was not sprinting; it was propulsion.

Kinetic burst.

Fragments of earth splintered.

Their blades ignited.

Aryan stepped first.

His heel slid one half-inch back—

Boom.

Ground displacement.

He accelerated ahead with a velocity outside common sense; his strike wasn't a weapon, just his palm against a helmet.

The helmet cracked.

The entire figure spiraled backward into the pillar—stone caved inward.

Abhi followed—no motion wasted. His bracelet pulsed like molten sapphire, and his strike didn't land on flesh but on air surrounding a target—

Air folded.

Space compressed.

The man collapsed unconscious.

Ahaan moved differently.

Almost effortlessly.

Almost gently.

Before his enemy reached him, their momentum collapsed—not because Ahaan blocked—but because something bent around him.

Energy, intention, motion.

He redirected their strike back at them, forcing two AlphaTech operatives to collide into each other—bone-level impact.

Silence again.

Except for sparks falling like dying fireflies.

Then—

From behind fallen structures…

More figures appeared.

Not seven.

Not ten.

Dozens.

Reinforcements.

Every armor marked the insignia of Shambhala reclamation forces.

Aryan exhaled.

"Warm-up's over."

His eyes sharpened.

"We finish it right here."

Abhi lowered his stance.

"This time, no mercy."

Ahaan positioned himself between both.

"No hesitation either."

Weapons were raised.

Energy lines cracked across the battlefield.

Dust rose.

Air thickened.

With no more words exchanged—

no more memories of loss—

no more fear of what was ahead—

The three advanced.

Into an army.

Into their fate.

Into the only battle that could end what began centuries before them.

And the valley trembled.

As their names, unknown to the world,

etched themselves into destiny.
