Chapter 120 - Break the Walls, Break the Fate

The dust had barely settled from the last impact when the battlefield changed.

The wind shifted first—an unnatural stillness passing through the ruined outskirts of Shambhala, as if the entire land inhaled sharply and held its breath. The sky above the towering walls dimmed, not from clouds, but from the oppressive aura that suddenly thickened the air.

Zade felt it immediately.

Hiro felt it like a pulse against his skin.

Kairo—quiet, predatory—simply smiled.

Below them, the three heroes steadied themselves, each already marked with exhaustion from the first rounds of close-quarters combat. Sweat streaked with dirt shimmered on their skin. The remnants of earlier battalions lay scattered around them—defeated without struggle, but still draining enough to signal that the real fight had only begun.

Ahan lifted his gaze first.

A ripple of energy—cold, unnerving—rolled down the wall as Zade stepped forward.

The shard embedded within his chest began to glow with a pulse like a heartbeat.

"Finally…" Zade's voice echoed, distorted by the dark resonance of the shard.

"Now I can stop holding back."

Abhi tightened the grip on his dual blades. Aryan's jaw clenched, the faint outline of the trident tattoo across his arm beginning to stir beneath the surface.

A gust of wind swept across the field.

Then—BOOM—the top of the wall cracked like old stone hit by a celestial hammer.

Zade jumped down first—landing with a crater-forming thud, shockwaves ripping outward.

The earth split beneath his feet.

Hiro descended next, quietly, gracefully, like a blade falling from heaven. No theatrics, only purpose.

Kairo dropped last, landing almost silently—but the ground around him blackened as if scorched by an invisible fire.

Three generals.

Three heroes.

Fate aligning with a brutal, inevitable simplicity.

Before anyone exchanged a word, Zade rushed forward.

The sheer physical force behind his dash tore a trench through the ground. Abhi barely lifted his blades in time—Zade's fist collided with them, and the impact launched Abhi backward through a half-crumbled building.

Aryan reacted instantly, hurling himself at Hiro, who sidestepped with unnerving calm. Hiro's counter was a simple palm thrust to Aryan's sternum—but the force felt like being hit by a falling boulder.

Ahan didn't get a chance to choose an opponent.

Kairo moved like smoke—one second meters away, the next right in front of him.

Ahan ducked a swipe that sliced through the air so sharp it cut a tree in half behind him.

The battlefield exploded into three separate duels.

And immediately, all three heroes realized it:

The generals weren't just strong—the shards amplified them beyond normal measure.

Abhi burst out of the rubble, blades drawn back. His breathing steadied, his stance rooted deep into the earth.

Zade grinned—sharp, feral.

"You've improved," Zade growled. "But that alone won't save you."

He lunged again, this time chaining attacks—hooks, jabs, knee strikes—each blow raw and brutal. Abhi deflected, dodged, twisted—metal sparks spraying in the air.

But Zade's strength…

It was climbing.

Climbing fast.

The shard pulsed again. Black veins crawled along Zade's arm.

Abhi's eyes narrowed.

So he's still growing…

He countered with a blade arc infused with everything he had—but Zade caught one blade mid-swing and crushed the metal slightly with his bare hand.

Abhi's eyes widened.

Zade smiled wider.

Hiro moved like water. Each step is seamless. Each strike was perfectly efficient. No wasted motion.

Aryan fought with aggression, raw power, instinct—but Hiro's calmness overwhelmed him.

A wrist lock.

A shoulder slam.

A sweep that cut the ground.

Aryan found himself on his back more than once.

Hiro stood over him, expression unreadable.

"You rely too much on emotion," Hiro said softly. "Bad habit."

Aryan surged upward with a roar—fist blazing with willpower—but Hiro parried it with two fingers and sent him skidding across the dirt again.

Aryan spat blood.

"I'll show you… emotion can break mountains."

"We'll see."

Hiro's shard glowed faintly through the fabric of his uniform.

Kairo's movements were eerily quiet.

Ahan tried to analyze the patterns—but Kairo didn't have patterns. His attacks were chaotic yet precise, like a predator playing with prey.

Kairo appeared behind him—Ahan barely rolled away.

He appeared above—Ahan blocked with his forearm and felt a bone crack.

Ahan's mind raced.

Kairo tilted his head, observing him like an interesting experiment.

"You think too much," Kairo whispered.

He flicked a finger.

Ahan crashed into a wall.

"A fragile mind… breaks first."

Ahan wiped blood from his lip.

His eyes sharpened.

"Keep talking," he muttered.

"It helps me understand you better."

For the first time—Kairo's smile faltered.

All three generals moved at once.

Zade slammed a palm into the ground—dark energy erupted outward, knocking Abhi flat.

Hiro unleashed a silent burst of force—Aryan dropped to a knee.

Kairo's aura thickened—Ahan felt pressure like drowning.

The shards glowed in unison—black light expanding, twisting, corrupting the air.

Ahan's eyes widened.

Abhi gritted his teeth.

Aryan felt the world closing in.

The three generals stood tall, power surging around them like a storm of shadows.

Zade: "You wanted a real fight?"

Hiro: "Then stand."

Kairo: "And break beautifully."

The heroes rose—slowly, painfully.

And then—

Their artifacts answered.

Abhi's dual blades ignited with a silver-blue luminance.

Aryan's body radiated a faint celestial flame as the trident sigil pulsed.

Ahan's specs shimmered into existence—ancient, silver, one-eyed—while the spectral book manifested behind him like a floating grimoire.

Zade's grin disappeared.

Hiro's expression sharpened.

Kairo's eyes widened, pupils narrowing like a predator sensing another apex creature.

The battlefield trembled.

Three generals.

Three heroes.

Three artifacts awakening for the first time.

The collision that followed would reshape the ground itself.

Abhi took the first step forward—blades humming.

Zade mirrored him with a beastlike snarl.

Aryan lifted his hand—the phantom shape of the trident forming.

Hiro silently adjusted his stance.

Ahan exhaled—the book behind him flipping open to its first glowing page.

Kairo's dark aura coiled like serpents ready to strike.

Three duels reignited.

And at that instant—
