From the previous conversations among the ancestors and Grand elders, Valdis knew that the soul of someone named Nyxaria was used as the stabilizing component of the weapon, but he was too young to know who Nyxaria was.
Most trainees and soldiers of the Ebonhart duchy still didn't know that the cute fox that they usually played with was one of the guardians of the Ebonhart House.
So, although the news of Nyxaria's death put the entire house in a sullen mood.
Most people still thought that the reason for the general depression was due to the death of the little fox, as it had been rumored that although the fox looked little, it had been in the family for centuries and had seen many great figures in the Ebonhart duchy as they were trainees.
It was also rumored that she was the pet of some powerful figure in the Ebonhart; that's why the instructors ignored its presence and seriously punished anyone who dared insult or try to harm it.
The thing that stunned Valdis was the title 'Guardian of House Ebonhart'.
The guardians of the Ebonhart duchy were individuals who were in the divine realm and were the main pillars of the Ebonhart duchy.
They were hardly ever seen, and whenever they made an appearance, it implied that a world-shaking event was about to happen, and the said event would cause massive changes in the world's power structure, and that usually came with the deaths of millions of people.
When Valdis finally snapped back, he hurriedly knelt on one knee, placing his hand on his chest.
"I greet lord guardian," Valdis said.
Seeing this, Nyxaria rolled her eyes. This type of greeting was reserved for guardians only.
In the Ebonhart House, except when greeting the guardians, you do not kneel when greeting any other person, even the patriarch.
This is the respect reserved for those who have reached the apex of power in Eldoria.
"Stand up, you might not know, but I hate it when people greet me in that manner," she said
As she finished speaking, Valdis felt an invisible force pull him to his feet.
"Now let's get to the main reason you came here, the weapon," she said
"But how am I supposed to achieve that? I don't feel any connection whatsoever to that thing," Valdis said while pointing in the direction of the silvery blob.
"Ohhh, sorry for that," Nyxaria said in realization.
But before he could ask her for a solution, Nyxaria clapped her hands, and immediately, Valdis instantly felt intricately connected to the silvery blob."
"I restricted your access to the weapon the moment you entered because I didn't want you make any mistakes in creating your weapon," she said
As Valdis heard this, he wasn't too surprised. A soul as powerful as hers was added as the stabilizing component in this weapon, so it wasn't surprising that she eventually found a way to control it.
"Secondly, if you do not create the weapon with me as the intermediate your soul won't be able to endure the strain this weapon puts on the soul," she said
Valdis nodded his head, understanding the dangers her cutting of his connection with the slivery blob saved us from.'
"So when do we start?" Valdis asked
"Immediately, you might not know, but staying in this space for a long duration weakens the souls of people at your level of power," she said.
Immediately after she said that, she appeared behind Valdis. She leaned in again, her lips just a few centimeters from his ear, and said
"I want you to be creative right now and focus," she said
Her voice seemed to carry a certain charm, because hearing her voice was enough to calm him down and focus his thoughts
"Close your eyes and ask yourself, what's the attribute you look for when looking for a weapon?"
Valdis thought for a moment and said, "Speed, I want my blade to be as swift as possible but not so slender that the sword will shatter under intense force."
"Your requirements are a bit contradictory, but tell me a little about your techniques and why you want a fast sword," she said
" I practice a technique I created, and it integrates the principles of two separate techniques."
"You're a sword master?" Nyxaria asked
Valdis nodded in acknowledgement
"That's slightly impressive, at least the Ebonharts now have a sword prodigy who might comprehend the sword law in the future. Not bad," She said
Hearing her response, Valdis was stunned. Anyone who found out that he was a sword master at nine years old will be visibly shocked nut Nyxaria brushed it off as though it was normal.
Noticing his shock, Nyxaria laughed and said, "You think being a weapon master at nine years is impressive? I admit it puts you in the category of genius, but that achievement is nothing special."
Valdis couldn't hold back and asked, "A nine-year-old sword master isn't that impressive?"
"To me.... No," she replied.
Valdis didn't show much reaction and calmly asked, "Why?"
"That's because I come from a time when the first thing most children knew how to use was a sword, and the inability to use one would get you killed fairly quickly. So becoming a master of a weapon was easily found, but the real problem lay in crossing that threshold and becoming a grandmaster."
Valdis silently listened to her as she spoke, as his mind processed all the information he had heard.
"But, if you advance to the grandmaster level before your fifteenth birthday, I'll consider you somewhat special," she said while running her finger down his arm.
"But that's a matter for another time. Let's create your sword first. So answer me, why do you want a swift sword?"
Without hesitation, he responded, "I want to be able to kill my enemy before he realizes his life is in danger."
"You are no assassin, so what will you do if that fails, because I'm sure that won't work out most of the time," she asked.
"I'll battle normally, but my fighting style is a mixture of speed and power."
"Extreme speed and power, these two are contradictory in the sense that extreme speed demands the sword be light, and for a sword to endure the amount of power you can generate, the sword must be thick to prevent the sword from shattering mid-battle, and increasing the thickness of a sword to prevent that increases the weight of the sword."
As she talked, Valdis could finally understand why she said that his specified attributes were contradictory, but unwilling to give up, he asked.
"Is there nothing that can be done?"
Hearing this, Nyxaria smiled wildly.
"Normally, it would be impossible, but fortunately for you, I've seen a sword that incorporates these two concepts. Although that was a long time ago, and it was in the hands of a race everyone wishes they could erase from existence."
Hearing this, Valdis frowned and looked at Nyxaria with a questioning look
"Don't bother, you are too young and too weak to know about them or be bothered by it. I just want to tell you that I've seen them use a weapon that incorporates the attributes of extreme speed and destructive power."
"So why tell me about the race everyone wishes to destroy?" Valdis asked
"I'm just saying that using this particular weapon will attract a lot of resentment towards you, just because you own a weapon that looks like the one that race predominantly used."
"All this will happen just because I use a similar weapon to that race," he asked.
"Yes, but the good thing is that only people who survived the millennial war would recognize the weapon," Nyxaria said with a sweet smile on her face.
"And the downside is that anyone who survived the millennial war can squish me like a bug," Valdis said as he looked at her.
Hearing this, her smile grew wider, making him feel like his guess was correct.
"It seems you're way smarter than the average Ebonhart. A normal Ebonhart would have damned all the consequences for an opportunity to get an increase in power."
Hearing her confirmation, he sighed.
"At least let me see the weapon before I make any conclusions," he said
Nyxaria nodded and placed her hand on his head, and after a few minutes, Valdis opened them again and sighed again
"Unfortunately, that sword looks like it will fit me perfectly.. What is that weapon called?"
Hearing this, Nyxaria laughed and replied, "People then called it many names, but only one name was widely known: The Demon Sword."
"So do you want that sword or would you settle for something else?"
Valdis looked at her, his eyes resolute, and said
"I don't care what history the sword has, as long as it will help me reach the peak of power, I'll take it regardless of the problems that come with owning one."
"Now you're talking like a true Ebonhart," Nyxaria said
And with a smile on her face, she looked at Valdis and said
'Now we know what your sword will look like, shall we begin its creation"
