Aurelia stood in the middle of ground that had now grown calm again. No cracks. No massive tremors. The world looked as if it had recovered.
She knew.
It was only on the surface.
Inside.
Something was growing.
Slowly.
Without sound.
Without disruption.
And that is what makes it hard to stop.
"What did you see earlier…"
Kael spoke up, breaking the silence.
"…was it growing?"
Aurelia did not answer right away.
Her eyes stared ahead.
But her thoughts were still inside the network.
"Yes."
Her answer was soft.
But certain.
Ragnar scoffed.
"Then we wait for it to come out, then we destroy it."
Orion shook his head slightly.
"If it were that simple, it wouldn't have survived in there."
Silence fell again.
This time.
More focused.
Aurelia took slow steps forward.
A faint light appeared around her body.
Not bright.
But enough to show.
