Chapter 188 - Chapter 188 New Member Joins the Team

Upon hearing Lionel's words, Grandma immediately said,

"The Tyrantrum wants to practice Sandstrom skills, right? I'll arrange it."

In our Dragon Village, there live quite a few Krookodiles, many of whom are highly proficient in Sandstorm. I have them accompany the Tyrantrum, keeping a close eye on it every day to ensure it doesn't slack off.

"Krookodile?"

Hearing the old woman's words, Lionel immediately felt a surge of heat.

His memories of Krookodiles from his past life...

After all, he had used this quite a bit in games in his past life...

This is the top Pokémon in the World.

[Pokémon: Krookodile]

[Type: Ground, Dark]

[Category: Pokémon with Pokémon Opening]

[Ability: Intimidate, Overconfidence, Rage Point]

This is a popular Pokémon in game battles, not only proficient in Ground and Dark-type moves, but also knows many Dragon-type moves.

Like "Outrage," "Smack Down," "Dragon Claw," "Dragon Pulse," etc. are all within its grasp. Thinking about it this way, the existence of Krookodile in Dragon Village is indeed reasonable.

With them training alongside, Tyrantrum's Sandstorm skill will definitely improve by leaps and bounds.

"Thank you so much, Grandma!"

Lionel breathed a sigh of relief:

"With you keeping an eye on it, I'm relieved. Let it enjoy this time. I'll contact you again when I need it to ask."

After chatting with Grandma and Cynthia for a few more minutes about Deino's habits and care, Lionel hung up the call. He glanced at the newly awakened Vulpix, shook his head, and quickly got up to change his clothes.

He had to hurry to the Pokémon Center; Deino would be teleporting over soon, and he couldn't let it wait.

Larvesta, who had been sulking because Tyrantrum hadn't returned, but hearing Lionel say he was going to pick up a new companion, chirped excitedly, insisting on going with him.

Two small Vulpixes wagged their tails curiously.

They hadn't seen Deino before and were now eagerly wondering what their new companion would be like.

Lionel quickly washed up, changed into clean clothes, and released Milotic to watch over the two small Vulpixes with Metagross. He then took Burning to the Pokémon Center in PacifidogTown to pick up Deino.

The Pokémon Center in PacifidogTown was as bright and lively as ever. Nurse Joy, dressed in a pink uniform, was busy behind the counter.

Occasionally, you could see the adorable Little Lucky Egg wearing an intern's sleeve, struggling to carry a medical book, running around, helping Nurse Joy and Chansey with whatever small tasks it could.

Trains would occasionally bring injured Pokémon for help. A faint scent of disinfectant filled the air.

Lionel, holding a Larvesta, sat on a bench in the corner of the hall, his gaze occasionally drifting towards the Pokémon Transporter. Miss Joy had already received a notification from Cynthia in the Unova region and was currently adjusting the parameters of the teleportation machine.

"Mr. Lionel, this is the counter."

Miss Joy smiled and guided him to the teleportation platform:

"The teleportation machine is ready and undergoing final calibration. We'll confirm with a video link."

Lionel nodded, feeling a surge of excitement. He entered Cynthia's number into the device, and a moment later, the screen lit up.

Cynthia was standing in front of the teleportation machine established at the Dragon Village Pokémon Center, with Deino waving goodbye and a group of Dragon-type Pokémon behind her.

"Is everything ready?"

Cynthia asked. Deino in the camera lens was wriggling restlessly in her arms, clearly curious about the upcoming teleportation.

"Ready, Sister Cynthia."

Lionel took a deep breath, his gaze fixed on the teleportation platform.

"Then let's begin."

Cynda said, gently pressing the Poké Ball button, capturing Deino into the Poké Ball, then placing the Poké Ball containing Deino into the teleportation slot.

With a soft hum, the teleportation station at the Pokémon Center in Lofty Town lit up with blue light, and a black and red Poké Ball slowly rose from the teleportation wall.

Lionel reached out and picked up the Poké Ball; it felt slightly heavy, and could vaguely feel a faint movement emanating from inside.

He waved to Cynda and Grandma on the screen:

"Received it, thank you!"

"It's super good."

Grandma's voice came through with a smile:

"Come visit our Dragon Village sometime."

Hanging up the call, Lionel gripped the Poké Ball tightly, his fingertips burning.

Larvesta beside him chirped excitedly, nudging his arm with its head, clearly wanting him to release his new partner.

"Don't rush,"

Lionel gently patted Larvesta's shrunk back, soothingly whispering, "There are too many people now. Let's wait until we get back to the hotel room before releasing it." Lionel couldn't release Deino now.

Cynthia had previously sent Lionel the training manual and precautions for Deino, Zweilous , and Hydreigon from the Dragon Village.

Deino's nature is to explore the world with its mouth. If it bites things randomly in the Pokémon Center, or even pounces on him, that would be troublesome.

Besides, he didn't want to use the system's Pokémon Energy Orbs to "bribe" his new partner in public; the four-room room was safer.

Although Larvesta was a little unhappy, it still let out a soft "squeak," its blue eyes still fixed on the Poké Ball in Lionel's hand, full of curiosity.

After calming Larvesta down, Lionel could no longer contain his excitement and practically ran out of the Pokémon Center, heading towards the beachfront hotel.

Larvesta followed beside him, the little creature running incredibly fast, occasionally glancing back at the Poké Ball in his hand, its eyes full of anticipation.

Shortly afterward, Lionel returned to his hotel room, panting. Pushing open the door, the scene inside brought a smile to his face: Metagross was using its psychic powers to open two cans of Pokémon food, carefully pushing them towards the two Vulpix, its red pupils filled with patience.

Vulpix and Ice Vulpix swam obediently on the table, their six tails swaying gently. Every now and then, they would look up at Metagross with adorable eyes and let out soft, sweet cries.

Milotic was practicing its skills in the open space in the center of the room. It controlled a ball of water, spinning and shaping it in the air, sometimes transforming it into flowers, sometimes into various Pokémon.

This was its daily training, practicing its Water-type move control in the river, preparing for its final, magnificent combination move in the Pokemon Contest.

Hearing the door open, the Pokémon immediately looked over, their eyes all fixed on the Poké Ball in Lionel's hand, filled with curiosity.

"Alright, let's meet our new friends."

Lionel closed the door, took a deep breath, and gently tossed the Poké Ball out.

"Come out, Deino!"

A flash of red light appeared, and a small Pokémon appeared before them.

Lionel took a closer look and couldn't help but admire it in his heart.

"This Deino is really well-developed!"

Its height was estimated to be nearly one meter, much taller than the 80 centimeters of a normal Deino in the data provided by Cynthia.

It raised its head.

It was covered with thick blue skin, its robust body wrapped in fluffy black fur, bulging and puffy, like a head of... young calf, poised to pounce, exuded power.

Its bangs obscured its eyes, revealing only a slightly open jaw, radiating a hint of arrogance.

Deino was clearly curious about its new environment. It immediately sniffed the air upon appearing.

The air was filled with the metallic scent of Metagross, the moisture of Milotic, the milky aroma of the Vulpixes, and the smell of food!

Its eyes, hidden beneath its black bangs... Bright, almost instantly transformed into a streak of blue lightning, "Oh!" and pounced onto the table.

It took a bite of the tin can, which Ice Vulpix hadn't finished eating, and crunched it to pieces with a "crunch, crunch," making a loud "crunch, crunch" sound, eating with great relish.

The crisp sound of metal ringing echoed in the quiet room.

It made one's teeth ache.

The Fire Vulpix, seeing its sister's food being taken, was about to erupt in anger, its claws....

But seeing Deino devour the can along with the food, its bold and unrestrained manner stunned them, its little mouth gaping open in surprise.

It hesitated for a moment, tilting its head, and used its tail to push the can in front of it to Deino's feet, clearly wanting to see this amazing way of eating again.

Not only Vulpix, but also Lionel, Larvesta , and Milotic were all dumbfounded.

Metagross could also crush metal and stone, but it was a Steel-type Pokémon, eating ores, and had this ability innately.

But Deino was just a creature of flesh and blood, yet it could be so ferocious, which was truly astonishing.

Metagross, on the other hand, remained calm.

It could eat like that too, but there was no need; there was no need to eat the packaging, it didn't taste good.

However, it still felt a sense of goodwill towards Deino, this little creature that could eat like itself, and looked at it a couple more times.

Deino, however, didn't care about the others. Surprised, seeing Fire Vulpix push another piece over, it didn't hesitate to bite into it, swallowing it whole, meat and all, the "squeak" sounds echoing from its mouth as it ate with great relish.

The crisp sounds were particularly clear in the quiet room. Just then, Lionel's eyes automatically displayed Deino system panel:

[Pokémon: Deino]

[Type: Dark/Dragon]

[Category: Rude Pokémon]

[Ability: **Vigor (Energetic and active, Pokémon with this characteristic have increased close-range attack power, but decreased move accuracy.)]

[Moves: Tackle (Mastery), Bite (Max), Dragon Breath (Perfect), Focus (Proficient), Headbutt (Mastery), Dragon Claw (Practice), Outrage (Beginner)]

"Truly a genius!"

Lionel exclaimed inwardly upon seeing Deino's moveset.

Deino's moveset! It's practically perfect!

Its signature moves, "Bite" and "Dragon Breath," are both at their peak, and it's even mastered "Dragon Claw."

Most remarkably, it has also mastered the ultimate Dragon-type move, "Outrage."

Although it's only at the beginner stage, for an unevolved single-evolved dragon, it already possesses a terrifyingly high level of Dragon-type talent!

No wonder it's a descendant of the legendary Hydreigon; its talent is truly exceptional.

Lionel touched its head thought to himself:

He recalled his Tyrunt and Feebas, but they weren't this powerful. It seemed this little guy's potential to evolve into Hydreigon was definitely not to be underestimated.

Lionel envisioned Hydreigon evolving into a ranged attacker, similar to Larvesta.

Although Hydreigon inherited the move Outrage, it was still a Dragon-type Pokémon, and its physical abilities weren't bad. Knowing this move was a good thing.

After all, the stronger the body, the more energy it accumulated, and if it got into close combat, its powerful Dragon-type body wouldn't be afraid of close-quarters battle.

Lionel had high hopes for Hydreigon.

If he could get its three heads to control different moves and launch three attacks simultaneously, the power would be absolutely terrifying. Just thinking about it was exciting.

However, this Hydreigon was also a late bloomer, and its evolution... It would take even longer than Larvesta's time; it would need to be nurtured slowly.

Just as Lionel was pondering how to train Deino, Deino had already finished two cans of Pokémon Food, its mouth was agape, and it seemed still not full.

It started to waddle over to Lionel, Seeing this, Larvesta immediately stepped forward and pointed in front of Lionel, its small, sharp eyes fixed on Deino.

Although this guy usually liked to be mischievous and cause trouble, it was very protective of its trainer. Always the first to rush forward.

Deino clearly didn't intend to attack Lionel. It jumped onto the table and let out a loud roar at him.

"What did it say?"

Lionel looked at the Metagross beside him.

The Metagross used telekinesis to translate:

"It asked if you were its human, and said it wasn't full, asking you to bring some more food, or it would get angry."

Lionel almost burst out laughing. This little guy was So rude, and even "warning its trainer"!

Larvesta next to it wasn't having any fun.

It was already a little upset because the Tyrantrum hadn't returned, and now seeing this newcomer daring to be so arrogant towards its trainer, it immediately bristled.

It leaped onto the table, biting and growling at Deino, clearly trying to teach the newcomer a lesson, to let it know that newcomer was the "boss" of the group.

Before Larvesta could even begin its "training"...

"Speak!" Deino suddenly lowered its head and rammed its head into Larvesta.

It was its masterful skill, "Headbutt!"

Larvesta was clearing its throat, preparing to speak "grand principles," but it didn't expect Deino to attack without warning, showing no regard for martial ethics.

It was hit squarely by this sudden punch.

With a "bang," it fell off the table, its six little legs laying on the ground, looking utterly pathetic.

Seeing this, Metagross actually let out a "whoosh whoosh" of laughter, his smug expression almost irresistible. The two Vulpix, also amused by their little dad's antics, whimpered and trembled.

But when the Larvesta swarmed towards them, the two little guys immediately shut their mouths, trying hard to suppress their laughter, their little faces turning bright red, looking exceptionally cute.

"Bite bite bite!"

Larvesta was completely enraged.

To be bullied like this in front of the two "Vulpixes" is an utter disgrace!
