Eduardo continued further, "For your first lesson, you are going to need to channel your battle aura outward."
Ethan nodded. "How do I do that?"
"Usually, Sabers know how to do this automatically once they awaken," Eduardo explained. "But because you are of more than one class, your mana is already accustomed to serving different functions. So this may take a bit more effort on your part."
He gestured with one hand. "You're going to need to reach inward and simply will it. Feel for the mana within you, then consciously direct it to convert into battle aura."
Ethan nodded slowly, processing the instruction. He closed his eyes and exhaled.
For a moment, there was nothing.
Then he took one deep breath inward, focusing his intent. He could feel the mana flowing through his body, then air around him began to distort faintly, like a haze of heat rising off.
Ethan opened his eyes. "I think I've done it."
Eduardo's face broke into a genuine smile. "Yes, Master Ethan. You have."
