Bettie nodded, although the look of concern was still on her face.
Valerie spoke up. "She told me her place of living is in Hickory Quarters, and I know that's pretty darn far from this point. I'm sure Eduardo would have no fun driving to that end of the city at this time of night."
Ethan turned to Bettie. "So have you informed your family of your situation then?"
Bettie nodded and raised her Arcphone slightly. "I did, not long ago."
Ethan nodded. "That's good then."
He turned to Valerie. "Tonight, you're to tend to Elizabeth. See to it she gets what she needs to be comfortable in this place. Whether it be a change of clothes or a warm bath."
"Yes, Master Ethan," Valerie said with a respectful nod.
Bettie quickly said, "It's fine, really. I don't want to be a bother."
She was trying to sound modest, not wanting to impose.
