Bettie observed the proceedings as each item came and went. She noticed something that was off.
Most people still held onto their pouches of money and not alot had spent significant amounts so far.
That meant they were waiting.
Waiting for the four special items that hadn't been revealed yet.
Bettie's hands tightened around her own pouch as she glanced down at her pouch, hoping it would be enough when the time came.

After a while longer, all fourteen items from the official list had been auctioned off successfully.
Most of them had gone to Belsorth students who either genuinely wanted those specific items or felt they didn't have enough money left to compete for whatever special surprises were coming next.
Out of those fourteen items sold so far, only three had been won by Mallory High students.
Hana began, "Alright everyone! I can feel it in the air… this is what you've all been waiting for!"
She turned toward Kieran with an exaggerated flourish of her hand.
