Bettie hesitated. "We don't… have to kill her."
Valerie glanced sideways. "If we need to defend ourselves and it goes there, then it goes there."
There was a short pause before she added, "Let me guess, you've never taken a life."
Bettie exhaled. "No, especially not after stalking them."
Valerie smiled but said nothing more. Bettie's reaction was understandable, but it was what it was.
Loretta's pace then changed a bit as she subtly flicked her eyes to the side.
Her perception had made her realize that these same persons have been following her for a while now. It wasn't coincidence.
Without breaking stride, she turned into an alley and kept walking.
Both Valerie and Bettie followed behind her, entering the alley until they came to a stop.
There was suddenly no one. Even her mana presence had vanished, meaning their target was someone who knew how to suppress their mana.
Valerie's eyes narrowed. "Lucy," she said quietly, hand brushing her earpiece. "You still see her?"
