In front of Korven sits a building that was once nicknamed the fortress of Kilder. Founded by Hilden, the business mogul ensured the creation of the most efficient possible prison, more of a cage than a building.
The Hilden detention centre.
After a few minutes of wandering around to find the visitor entrance, Korven enters the only modern-looking part of the concrete brick building.
As soon as she enters the visitor building, she looks around for anyone who might be wearing a uniform.
The room she's in reminds Korven of a clinic waiting room with rows of empty chairs. The only visitors Korven see's besides herself look to be criminals themselves.
There's one woman, Korven notices, who sits alone with messy hair and ruined makeup. The woman holds a crying toddler, but it seems as if she is tearing up as well.
"She's probably here to see some imprisoned ex." Korven thinks,
She walks up to the woman and her crying toddler, and hands the child the other pastry Lyn had given her, one she had only noticed when she reached into her pocket for the first one.
"Thank you, ma'am." The child says as he wipes away his tears.
The mom just looks to be staring into space, tears in her eyes. Ignoring her, Korven walks up to the front desk, seeing an average-looking young man wearing the prison's non-guard white and blue uniform and says,
"Hi, I'm here for a visit."
The man at the front desk asks,
"Name?"
"Korven," Korven says
The man flips a sheet of paper and silently starts reading from it.
"There's no one scheduled for a visit today under the name of Korven. If you're here to visit an ex-boyfriend, you'll have to schedule it in advance; you also need to be a registered visitor, which you are not." The man at the desk says.
Korven thinks for a second, then takes out two 100 Dylner bills from her pocket and slides them towards the man.
"I'll see what I can do," the man says, as he stands up and walks through the door with the label.
"Private"
"Damn, I could've fed myself for at least two weeks with that," Korven says, thinking about the money she had given as a bribe.
After a minute, the man walks out and starts talking to Korven,
"So who is it you're here to see? What's the name of the man lucky enough to have a pretty lady like you visiting him?" he asks, in a weirdly flirtatious tone.
"I'm actually here to see someone from the female side of the prison," Korven states.
After hearing her, the man looks back up at her, takes a look and mouths,
"OHHHHHHHHHHHH"
"What's the lady's name?" he asks
"She's called Silia," Korven responds
"Last name?" the man asks
"She's not that close of a friend, I don't know."
The man's face is full of confusion at Korven's ineptitude.
"Friend?" He asks
"Seems like y'all are close enough friends if you're spending this much just to visit her." The man continues.
He looks at one of the folders on his desk, the one labelled 'Inmates F 2' and flips to the names starting with 'S'.
"I just don't know her last name, okay?" Korven responds defensively
"Isn't Silia a rare name? I'm sure there can't be more than one or two in this prison, even though it is pretty big." She continues
The man finally finds the name 'Silia' on one of the pages.
"Does 'Silia Flien' sound familiar?" He asks, trying to remind Korven of Silia's last name.
"Maybe, I'm not sure," Korven says, not knowing Silia's last name
"Oh my," The man says in a demeaning tone, as he stands up from his desk and walks back into the 'private' room.
"WAIT!" Korven yells, trying to get his attention
"Please help me find her," she begs
The man turns around, ignores her, and enters the 'private' room. Korven jumps over the desk and runs over to the door in an attempt to chase the man. Right when she gets to the door, it opens, and the man from the desk stands eye to eye with Korven, a little shorter than her, of course.
"What are you doing here?" He asks, sounding exhausted, like he hadn't slept in a day.
"I thought you left,"
"I was going after you." She answers
The man drops his face into his palms, rubs his eyes with his two index fingers, then pulls them together in a praying motion. Korven notices his exhaustion and feels ashamed that she had annoyed him to such an extent.
"Please just step back, I was just grabbing you a picture of her to see if you recognize her or not."
Korven steps back in shame and awkwardly, yet athletically, jumps back over the desk.
"So is this the Silia you were referring to?" He asks, while showing the mugshot of Flien to Korven
The girl in the picture didn't look like anyone Korven recognized; she looked like a hardened criminal, with a sleeve of tattoos and muscles on par with a wrestler.
"Silia mimicks the form of whomever she is talking to, that's why she looked like me at my apartment." Korven thinks to herself
"It's completely plausible that when she was taking the mugshot, she was speaking to some other criminal, meaning this image might be her," she continues thinking,
"On the other hand, even though Silia is a rare name, it is not impossible that there's more than one at the prison."
"If there are tw,o then there's a chance that she's somewhere else in the prison, and if I ask if there's any more Silia's in here, then this man wouldn't believe that I actually know her," she thinks.
"On the other hand, if there were more than one Silia, he would probably show me multiple pictures, yes, that's it, there's only one Silia documented, meaning this must be her."
"So is this her or not?" the man asks.
"Yes, this is her?" Korven responds.
The man breathes a sigh of relief at seemingly finding the woman that Korven is trying to find,
"Okay, because this is an 'under-the-table' sort of visit, and you aren't a registered visitor, you will only have 10-15 minutes to talk to Silia, is that okay with you?" The man asks, seemingly honestly concerned for Korven's meeting
Korven reminds herself of what she needs to accomplish in the short meeting,
"Talk to Silia and find proof that the chosen angels have been hiring assassins," she reminds herself under her breath.
"In ten minutes, as long as she works with me, which I don't see why she wouldn't, I could, for sure, get her to point me in the right direction to gather evidence."
"Yes, ten minutes should be fine for what I need to tell her, the meetings are anonymous, right?" Korven asks
"Oh. So it's THAT type of meeting, yeah, I'll make sure no one interrupts your 'reuniting'" he responds, shifting his tone when he says the word 'reuniting'.
"I could get her to the visiting room in 10 minutes, wait patiently." The man says as he scans his keycard next to a glass door and walks into the Prison.
