I sobbed in his arms until there was no more energy left in me,
I'd soaked his shirt with my tears but he did not seem to mind. He brushed his fingers down my spine lazily, warm breath fanning my ears as he pulled me closer to him.
Long after I'd finished crying I just sat there silently, reveling in the feel of his hands against me, in the soft and steady rhythm of his heart and the overwhelming nature of his presence. I did not know when it happened or how, but something shifted in the air and what was supposed to be a comforting gesture felt… more.
I squirmed in his lap, pushing myself closer to him. I could feel the hardness of his thighs between my legs and the sheer strength of him underneath me. His arms band around me tighter for only the fraction of a second, then he was pulling back, trailing them down to my waist as he pulled back from me.
"Are you alright?" he asked, eyes searching me.
