Rowan pulled out of me before slowly placing my feet on the ground. My legs shook, momentarily forgetting how to hold me up in place.
He righted my clothes, making sure I was at least presentable before stepping back, an amused smirk growing on his lips.
"What?" I asked, staring down at my body. "Is something wrong?"
He shook his head, but his smile only grew. "Nothing. Let's get you into a bed, hm?"
I could tell he was lying, but there was no way to know what was truly going on in his mind.
I followed him into the palace, trying my best to ignore the maids and servants that bowed to us as we passed. They did not say a word, neither did their gazes linger, but at the slight blush that formed on a maid's cheek, I knew they heard us.
We were mated and yet, it felt like a fucking walk of shame.
