~ ROWAN
Two whole days and there was still no sign of Nyssa.
The guards couldn't find anything that could tie back to the vampires who took her, and Aria was absolutely no help whatsoever. In all the time she spent compelled, she didn't gain any piece of information that could be considered useful and the number the king called her with was disconnected.
"For fucks sake," I ground out, fighting the urge to throw something against the fucking wall. "Still nothing?"
Jeremiah shook his head. "The guards are out every day. We haven't seen a single vampire around the border since she was taken."
"Why would they?" I grumbled bitterly. "They have what they want."
He hummed, opening his mouth before quickly shuting it. He turned to leave but I knew there was more he wanted to say.
"What is it?" I asked, hands crossed over my chest.
"I just… it doesn't make sense to me. Why would he take her?"
