Chapter 86 - Chapter 86: Just As Planned~

"Remedios!!!"

Below the city wall, Caspond's face immediately darkened like pig liver. The veins on his forehead throbbed wildly as he ground his back teeth. "That arrogant, stupid woman!"

Following Caspond's fury, the "god's" figure suddenly surged twenty meters higher, standing half a body taller than the city wall.

Its two long, slender hands were surrounded by the four elements of earth, water, wind, and fire, aimed at Diborne City as its aura suddenly locked onto the figures on the wall.

"Not good!"

Locked onto by the "god," a cold current rushed from Remedios's spine to her brain, awakening her instinctive fear.

I can't dodge it.

The "god's" figure towered overhead, and its four faces all turned toward her at once.

Remedios could clearly see the stiff, eerie anger on the four faces composed of earth, water, wind, and fire.

Above the long, slender hands, the four elements condensed and swirled, accumulating power bit by bit.

The ground vibrated slightly, water vapor condensed in the sky, wild winds gathered, and the temperature in the air gradually became scorching.

Faced with such a display, even someone as brave as her found the hand holding her sword beginning to tremble.

Meanwhile, the other city guards, who were not as strong as she was, had already collapsed to the ground, crying and begging for mercy incessantly.

"Help, I don't want to die."

"Kami sama, please spare me..."

"Kami sama, I am your believer. Please don't kill me..."

For a moment, the city wall was shrouded in the fear of death.

Listening to the pleas for mercy on the wall, Caspond's expression finally softened slightly. A cold sneer appeared on his face as he mocked, "Remedios, prepare to die!"

A blazing fireball tens of meters high was held aloft by the "god."

The orange-red firelight reflected on everyone, and the air was scorched into a distorted, boiling haze.

On the wall, sweat rolled down Remedios's cheek. Her eyes reflected the fireball as she murmured, "Magic that surpasses the Hero Class... it seems I really am going to die here today..."

Swoosh!

The fireball came crashing down with a roar.

Just as Remedios fell into despair, Helant's voice rang out in front of her.

"Holy Light · Maximize Magic · Holy Radiant Shield!"

A radiant shield rose from the ground between the fireball and Diborne City, protecting the entire wall behind it.

The fireball, tens of meters wide, smashed into the shield like a falling sun and then exploded.

BoOOom!!!

Remedios looked up in shock as the condensed flames burst into a dazzling pillar of fire that shot straight into the clouds.

The fire raged for dozens of seconds, turning the blue sky an orange-red hue.

After the flames dissipated, the pure white radiant shield finally seemed to reach its limit, shattering with a crack.

Remedios's pupils constricted as she stared at the man before her in disbelief. "Helant, you're actually this strong... that was an attack even the Hero Class would be helpless against..."

"Frog in a well, do you see the vastness of the world now?" Clementine leaped forward with light grace, mocking with her signature smile. "The Hero Class is merely the threshold to even see Helant, you fool."

"Whew, that... I, I apologize to you..." Remedios stood up awkwardly, turning her face away as she forced the words out. "I shouldn't have treated you like that before..."

"It's all right..."

Now look at this fucking bitch! I don't accept it. Gotta stay in the act..

"Ehm.." A gentle smile appeared on Helant's handsome face, making him look like a man of great tolerance. "You were only like that because you were worried about the situation."

Once this incident is over, I'll find an excuse to have you stay with the inquisitor. kekeke~~

"Sir Helant, you're just too soft-hearted."

Quaiesse arrived in a hurry riding a griffin, glancing indignantly at Remedios, whose apology was less than sincere.

This was just taking advantage of the fact that Helant was a kind-hearted and honest man. If it were him or Zesshi Zetsumei, they would definitely have taken the chance to teach this stupid woman a lesson.

Behind him, Calca and Zesshi also arrived in haste.

Calca first confirmed that Helant was unharmed, then comforted the defenders. "Everyone, please do not be afraid. I swear in the name of the Holy Queen that I will not let that monster harm you."

"Your Highness!"

Calca was currently wearing a form-fitting robe convenient for movement, her golden hair tied neatly into a single ponytail. Though she looked fragile, the years of public prestige she had accumulated made the defenders feel greatly reassured.

It was as if, as long as the Holy Queen was present, there was still hope.

Their gazes gradually grew firm as they picked up their weapons and stood up again.

Seeing this, Calca nodded with satisfaction and turned her gaze toward the "god."

This four-faced being had given her an eerie feeling just moments ago, like her subconscious repeating: It is God.

The others' attention was also drawn to this bizarre entity.

"I must be crazy. How could I subconsciously think this is a god?" Quaiesse drew his sword, feeling deep wariness toward the monster. "It seems to be able to influence one's consciousness..."

Clementine drew her stiletto from her waist, her face losing its mocking expression. She could clearly perceive the chaotic malice hidden within the monster's heart. "It's almost like a collection of countless evil thoughts."

"Its strength is inferior to mine, but..." Zesshi Zetsumei's pretty face turned serious as she kept a close eye on the "god." "This guy has a strange sense of pressure, almost like the feeling a normal elf has when facing the Elf King..."

High above in the sky, the Platinum Dragon Lord had been observing this "god" for a long time.

"I actually cannot see through the essence of this monster. Or is there truly a god in this world?"

A flash of surprise crossed his human-like face, and then he shook his dragon head. "However, I didn't expect this fellow to actually have a Tier..."

The Platinum Dragon Lord finally confirmed one trait of the "god": its Tier.

Just like being sublimated by Wild Magic, completely crushing ordinary Dragon Kings as a True Dragon Lord, this was a higher form of existence.

Even in the Platinum Dragon Lord's long lifespan, he had only seen this kind of characteristic among Players and the Dragon Race.

However, the Platinum Dragon Lord was certain that the monster below was definitely not a Player, but rather more like a mass of accumulated resentment.

On the city wall, Helant noticed the Platinum Dragon Lord hidden in the clouds.

He sneered inwardly, a cunning red glint flashing in his eyes.

The entire world was covered in countless tangled black threads. One end was connected to Calca, Zesshi Zetsumei, and everyone else present, while the other end was connected to that "four great gods."

As Helant lightly hooked a thread with his finger, a stiff smile suddenly appeared on the four faces of the "god."

That's right! This cute little thing was something Helant himself had created using his Faith Devourer ability along with World Alchemist to collect the Faith Power generated by the Holy Kingdom's belief in the four great gods.

Heh~

He looked toward Calca, a concerned expression appearing on his handsome, gentle face.

My lovely Holy Queen did say that faith in the four great gods is deep-rooted in this kingdom's people... and so, I can only turn it into an Evil God~~
