Chapter 99 - Chapter 99: I am not a god

The people in the square stood up and walked straight toward the demi-humans. Looking at the wailing demi-humans in agony, their hearts were filled with satisfaction.

"Y-Yeah!"

"Thank god! We can live!!"

"Beautifully done!"

"Burn them slower! Don't let these pieces of scum die so easily!"

"We're saved!"

Before long, the demi-humans who had been so arrogant and domineering just moments ago were reduced to ashes.

The little girl raised her hands high above her head and smiled at Helant in the sky, saying, "Lord god!"

Neia had also stood up from the ground long ago. She clutched her severed arm, her sharp eyes now clouded with shock and joy. "Is this a true god…"

"I am not a god."

Helant slowly descended from the sky and retracted his Wings of Light, his holy and handsome face fully revealed before everyone.

He had a tall, slender build and flowing white hair, with an endless sense of compassion and tenderness seemingly hidden within his azure eyes.

A faint aura of holy light shimmered around him, making him seem isolated from the mortal world. Even a single glance could bring peace and happiness.

"I understand, you're a god who likes to joke." The little girl looked up, her innocent, large eyes full of sincerity.

Her smile seemed to infect those around her, and they all turned their gazes toward Helant.

Their expressions were also extremely serious. Especially when they compared the "god" who had come knocking with Caspond earlier to Helant, they became even more certain.

"Oh, great god, you have finally come to save us!"

Some had eyes full of tears, while others wept uncontrollably.

Even Neia could not tell at this moment whether the person before her was truly a god or not.

As she was thinking, she suddenly felt her clothes being tugged a few times.

Looking down, she saw the little girl tugging at her clothes while piously pleading with Helant. "My Lord, could you help Big Sister reattach her arm? Her archery is amazing. If she only has one hand left, she won't be able to protect everyone."

Hearing the little girl's words, Neia's heart warmed. She crouched down and stroked the girl's head. "The lord has already saved us once. We cannot trouble him further…"

Faith magic was relatively common in the Holy Kingdom. If one was willing to pay a high price, they could even request the services of Kelart, who could use resurrection magic.

Neia glanced quietly around. Because of the recent resistance, almost all the men were injured. In some severe cases, hands and feet had been hacked off.

Now, with the war being so intense, many practitioners of faith magic had been lost. She estimated that if they were unlucky, they might have to live with their disabilities for the rest of their lives.

However, even though she thought she might remain disabled, she still chose to refuse to ask Helant for treatment.

"Kami Sama, you probably have to go save other cities as well, so you shouldn't waste your mana." She guessed that since Helant could save the people of one city, he would surely go to the others as well.

As she spoke, Neia seemed to have already accepted Helant's identity as a so-called god.

Her words also brought a sense of conviction to the injured people around them. They looked at each other, their eyes filled with determination.

That's right. They were only disabled, but their other compatriots were still living in misery.

"Kami Sama, please go save the people in the other cities!"

"I indeed have to go save the people in other cities." Helant glanced at the midday sun, estimated the time slightly, and continued, "Furthermore, I am truly not a god."

As soon as he finished speaking, the entire place fell silent.

Everyone looked at one another, their eyes eventually resting on Helant, filled with confusion.

If there was a person whose strength was as great as a god's and whose appearance perfectly matched people's imagination of a deity, then what was he?

He was a god.

They remembered the little girl's words from earlier and spoke in unison, "I understand. You are a god who loves to joke."

"While I am not a god, I am the Human Emissary of the Holy Domain God Lord, essentially a messenger of god… Well, if you want to pray in the future, just silently recite the name of the Holy Domain God Lord in your hearts, and He will bless you," Helant said with a smile.

"Oh, by the way, my name is Helant. You will be hearing it often in the future."

Holy Domain God Lord?

Everyone silently committed the name to memory.

The bizarre and evil nature of the previous god had shattered the faith they once held in their hearts, but Helant's actions had mended the cracks in that faith, even though they had not realized it yet.

"There are still four more cities, so I cannot easily waste my mana to treat you…"

Helant took two steps forward to Neia's side. Looking at her severed arm, he said, "However, I have another way."

Neia was taken aback and asked in confusion, "What way?"

Helant took out a crate of Recovery Potions from his backpack and placed it on the ground with a thud, causing the potion bottles inside to clatter.

He took out a bottle of bright red potion, opened the cap, and dripped a few drops onto Neia's severed arm.

Can this potion heal injuries?

Before her doubt could be voiced, she felt a surge of warmth at the site of the severed arm, followed by a tingling sensation.

Granulation tissue began to grow wildly at the cross-section of her left arm. First the bone, then the muscle, and finally the blood vessels and skin.

Right before everyone's eyes, Neia's arm was restored to its original state.

"Big Sister's hand is back!" the little girl covered her mouth in pleasant surprise.

Looking at her fair and delicate left arm, Neia stammered, "A potion can even have the effect of regenerating limbs?!"

One must know that the best potions currently capable of being brewed could only heal wounds.

"This is a potion I brewed. Dilute it with water and distribute it to everyone. At your level, no matter how severe the injury, it can be healed." Helant gave a gentle smile, handed the potion bottle to Neia, and pointed to the crate of potions on the ground. "Make sure everyone gets some."

As he spoke, he casually summoned Neia's longbow and handed it to her. "Judging by your eyes, you must be an excellent archer. I hope that in the future, you can protect others."

Protect others… Helant's warm smile was deeply etched into Neia's mind at that moment.

"Alright, I must head to the other cities now."

After saying that, he leaped up. His Wings of Light spread once more. He streaked across the sky like a beam of light and disappeared from everyone's sight.

Neia stared blankly at the sky, murmuring, "Sir Helant… Holy Domain God Lord…"

A white-gold thread quietly condensed at her heart…

"He actually gave away such a large crate of God's Blood potions all at once?!" Quaiesse stared at the screen with bloodshot eyes, looking at the crate of potions by Neia's feet, wishing he could rush in and take it away.

"Sir Helant, do you have any idea that a single crate of God's Blood potions is enough to buy the lives of an entire city like this one!"
