Currently, his only real combat method was the Revolving Star-Moon Blade Technique with its four powerful moves. It was an excellent Sky Grade technique, but it had limitations. Most importantly, he needed more diverse ways to utilize his four awakened elemental laws in actual battle situations.
Simply exploding clones was effective and efficient, but it wasn't exactly subtle or versatile. He needed proper combat techniques rather than just overwhelming force.
