Chapter 129 - Chapter 129 The Shocked Mage

It was much like how a Witch attacked; since the spells hit the exterior of the boat, the Black Mage's magic couldn't actually touch Galen Yu.

Without his magic, the only option left for the Black Mage was melee combat.

A mage forced into melee?

Especially when his opponent was clad in a full Fiery Set while he was barehanded, lacking even a wooden weapon.

The result was that, aside from hurling verbal trash talk, he could only endure it.

They finally made it back to the Sky Island just before total darkness fell.

Looking at the beacon beam piercing the sky, Galen Yu breathed a sigh of relief.

He had been worried they were moving too slowly to make it back, fearing they might have to spend the night outside.

Once they entered the Rail world, they were basically completely safe.

Now, he could start considering how to punish this profiteer.

"Heavens, this is your chunk?!"

Amidst Galen's thoughts, the Black Mage suddenly cried out in shock.

"That pure white light shooting into the sky... if I'm not mistaken, that's a beacon?"

Seeing the Black Mage's astonished look, Galen Yu felt puzzled.

So far, this guy couldn't compare to the Architect at all.

If he really had any tricks up his sleeve, he should have used them when he was tied to the boat. Instead, he just shouted a lot without showing any actual skill.

He was ugly, mediocre in strength, hadn't shown any powerful skills, and liked to scam people. His business ethics were incredibly low.

The only thing worth praising was his knowledge of the Sky Island.

Galen had brought him back primarily to punish him for being a profiteer, and secondly to see if he could squeeze any more value out of him.

Given his previous performance, it wasn't strange that he knew about beacons, but the beam was so high it should have been visible from a long distance.

Why was he only surprised now?

"You didn't see it earlier?"

Shaking his head, the Black Mage's eyes darted around as he gave a sly chuckle.

"I'll tell you another secret for free, just let me go... fine, I'll talk!"

He had intended to bargain, but as soon as Galen Yu pulled out his SlashBlade, the Black Mage immediately shut his mouth.

He didn't know much about SlashBlades, but who wouldn't be afraid of a blade reflecting such a cold glint?

Reality told him he didn't have much leverage to negotiate.

"A beacon is a guiding light for creatures of that chunk to find their way home. Inhabitants of the chunk can see it from very far away."

"But if you belong to another chunk, you have to be very close to see it."

"To be honest, I really never imagined you would have a structure like a beacon. That requires killing that creature..."

"You definitely didn't summon it. You must have found it, right?"

With random block resources, one might get lucky and spawn a beacon, or find a Nether Star in a chest.

Even if how he obtained the crafting recipe remained a mystery, it was still more believable than him killing that thing.

Shaking his head, Galen Yu cut off the Black Mage's last bit of wishful thinking.

"No, I one-shotted it."

"One... one-shotted it? How is that possible? I didn't see it before, but kid, you're a bigger braggart than I am!"

He gave a couple of awkward laughs, but then noticed Galen Yu's expression was perfectly calm.

The Black Mage asked tentatively.

"You're not joking?"

The Black Mage's expression finally turned grim.

The Wither—a creature so powerful it rivaled a dragon—had been killed?

It wouldn't be strange in a small chunk where many mysterious and powerful beings existed.

But Galen Yu was clearly a newcomer. By the looks of it, he had been in the block world for a month or two at most.

He shouldn't be much stronger than a baby dragon, yet he had slain a Wither?

That wasn't the only thing that surprised him.

Sensing Galen Yu's return, the Snow Queen was the first to arrive.

The temperature suddenly dropped several degrees as a shadow descended from the sky, the gaze beneath that azure hair shifting slightly.

She leaned toward Galen Yu, nuzzling him like a small cat, appearing very affectionate.

"The ruler of the glaciers, the Snow Queen who stands independent of the Twilight Palace!"

There were mage lineages in the Twilight Forest as well, and the Black Mage had heard bits and pieces.

The Snow Queen, a master of ice magic, was rumored to be an irritable dictator—lonely, proud, and locked away in her glacier for years.

While she might not be as powerful as the dragons, she was still a Chunk Lord with extraordinary status.

And now, she had actually joined Galen Yu's chunk as a servant-type character?

"These beings are impossible to communicate with. How did you convince her to join your chunk?"

The Black Mage couldn't understand.

Even with his vast experience, he found these events far too inconceivable.

"Personal charm, and a little bit of strength."

The casual remark sent waves of shock through the Black Mage's heart.

To make the Snow Queen yield... just how much charm and strength did that require?

He had originally planned to scam the newcomer, thinking that even if he was trapped on the boat, he could eventually break free with enough time.

Then he'd find an opportunity to flee, and the newcomer would never find him.

Looking at it now, how was this a newcomer?

Where would you ever find such a ferocious newcomer!

"Even the Black Mage is scared?"

"This is just the beginning; he hasn't even entered the core area of the Sky Island yet!"

"The Black Mage's face has gone grey with fear. It seems God Yu is even more badass than we imagined?"

"Wasn't his face already grey? But true."

"Considering he has a decent amount of knowledge, for him to be scared like this shows how terrifying God Yu really is!"

"A pity he's a profiteer!"

"Remember that villager profiteer from before? He was locked in a Nether Portal just because his prices were one emerald higher than the others!"

"He had to live in fear every day as zombies washed over him, and this guy's prices are way more than one emerald!"

He's going to have a rough time!

Not noticing the Black Mage's gaze, Galen Yu returned to the Sky Island.

Before dealing out punishment, he didn't forget his primary task.

The SlashBlade!

With over a thousand kills, he needed a Fire Aspect enchantment to upgrade it to a Yuzuki-tou.

There were multiple ways to enchant a SlashBlade. The Enchanting Table was one, but most enchantments came from the Proud Souls dropped by killing mobs.

Mobs could drop Tiny Proud Soul Fragments or even enchanted Proud Souls, which could be used to transfer enchantments to the blade.

Unfortunately, he hadn't picked up any suitable Proud Souls, so he had to try the Enchanting Table first.

Like other weapons, a SlashBlade had one chance for a direct enchantment. As for rolling Fire Aspect...

"I'll trade thirty years of a Samurai Nation player's life for a Fire Aspect enchantment!"

He prayed silently in his heart as he placed the Oodachi into the Enchanting Table.

Looking at the entries that appeared, Galen Yu rubbed his eyes as if witnessing something unbelievable.

"No way... it actually came?"

There was Fire Aspect—and not just one, but all three entries!

[FIRE ASPECT II][ADVANCED FIRE ASPECT II][SUPER FIRE ASPECT II]

Furthermore, the More Enchantments effect had been triggered, granting him a Super Fire Aspect that was four times stronger than the standard version...

Hiss!

"With luck this good, I get exactly what I ask for?"

And they were all at the maximum enchantment level!

Is sacrificing Samurai Nation players really this effective?

Suddenly remembering something, Galen Yu checked the new buffs in his status window.

Speed, Strength, Life, and Luck.

Some were from divine buildings, while others were granted by the beacon. The Luck attribute was specifically a reward for establishing his first beacon.

He hadn't paid much attention to it before, but now he realized just how useful it was!

Unlike the rigid mechanics of the game, the More Enchantments effects automatically merged into the SlashBlade as part of the Fire Aspect tree.

He directly selected the strongest Super Fire Aspect and then opened the Crafting Table.

The Oodachi upgraded—Yuzuki-tou!
