Chapter 16 - Cha 14 The Annihilation 4

Ji Ho went on stage as I confessed to a girl. This Japanese girl is still trapped in her thoughts while Ji Ho touched the Sphere.

What color it might be? Ji Ho's expression are like open book right now for anybody. He is not excited about his color at all. The sphere is studying and Ji Ho is also studying it. Even the instructor standing beside him could tell that this kid is too curious for his own good.

"Yellow. Close to Lemon color." Instructor said as the color emerged from the center of the globe an dshone brightly. A light Yellow color. What does it even mean? And why are the children that have done it still standing here?

After sometime we all came out and were sent to a technical hall this time. We climbed some stairs and came on the second floor of a building. It was written big on a White board. "Arena." And besides it:

'Group 1. Section 1: Round Match ups.'

A whole chart which I assume is based on our colors was drawn below the title. A competition feeling.

"Ok students. Take the seats on sidelines and come whoever name is called. We are starting the Section 1 now." We all sat down which looked like seating system of a arena. This building is quite big. All the exams must be held here. Then names started flashing up on theelectric board on the front wall.

Every individual is going to have 5 matchups and scores will be ranked on a seperate board. I don't know but wasn't there a time limit of one hour? Am i forgetting something?

Then on the board in front of us all rules were presented once again. Even though we had our devices they still put up a whole show out of the rules. Names have been displayed and students are still coming in the hall. Yeah, there were around 667 students in our group, that's a lot to do under 10 minutes with only one sphere. I wonder how much time will this take.

Rules of Section 1:

1. Participants will choose a desired game out of given choices. This include any type of game.

2. On the first rounds, everyone will be matched up in singularly and scores will be ranked.

3. After 1st match, teams will be formed by numerical names. Participants will be promoted or demoted by their scores.

4. Teams can disqualify members or ricruit more. Teams can also pair up. There is no limits on number of members in a team.

5. 5 matches will go simultaneously and time limit is 10 minutes for every match. Games don't need to end traditionally.

6. Additional time will take some penalty accordingly over next matches.

7. Ranks that are determined by continuous score of the rounds on scoreboard will affect the matchups and next Sections as well.

8. Some rules are hidden in puzzles and few are meant to be experienced directly.

9. Trading is never inappropriate.

What's up with the last rule. And I'm amused they gave hint about hidden rules.

First matches:

[Wang Wei] on [Anastasia Sokolov]

[Chih-ming Chen] on [Sachiho Sato]

[Seo-ah Park] on [Altantsetseg Tayichiud]

[Wangdu Han] on [Min-su Kim]

[Hiroshi Takahashi] on [Ha-rin Choi]

[Yoo-jun Jung] on [Eugene Lee]

[Kenji Tanaka] on [Seong Hyunwoo]

[Yi Doyoon] on [Jisoo Baek]

[Jieun Lee] on [Yuto Tanaki]

[Yoko Suzuki] on [Minoru tsukoichi]

....

There are some weird names on there, such as that Yuto guy, his urname is weird. That Sokolov girl, isn't Sokolovs are in decline now? How is she here from Russia? There's a Wangdu too, with Han surname. It's another weird combination. And that Wang guy too is for some reason is weird.

Hm? Wangdu Han?

I just stood up as my name also called up. All the students whose name were displayed are going in that direction huh? I mixed up with them and it felt like rally of us 20 people. Oh there's a Japanese girl who somewhat resembles that Japanese girl from before. Do all Japanese look same or something? Chinese are also weird.

According to our choosen games everyone was provided with custom rooms for those specific games, few on different floor. And the names kept calling up. Yeah they must are trying to hurry cause there are over 600 people andeveryone needs ro give five rounds. .... perfect for my own annihilation. Ji Ho is still sitting there.

I came to my room. A medium sized one. And with me this Min-su Kim guy. I chose a game that would be hard to pair at start but to my wonder, This guy from same nation can't see me in peace.

"Ready?" We shook hands before sitting on opposite sides of a board. And our first game is...., "Carrom lover?" Yes, Carrom. I shook my head and just smiled. We are playing Carrom. What can go wrong? But in reality Carrom is one of the most tactical board games.

The size of this Carrom isn't that big so it's all good. Minsu took the striker and angled it on line. What are you even angling on? All the pieces are in front and in circle bro.

Strike happened, but it went left. Hit. Went to top boundary. Hit. Went back to right boundary. Hit. And finally from right side it hit the center pieces. 3 pieces, 2 white and 1 black went in 3 different holes. He is too good. Is this all coincidence? This guy showed up early and my match started early. Then this guy is so good at it. Well I need to focus now he already got 50 points and timer of 10 minute is going on.

He again took the striker as bonus to his wins, hit it and one black went to forward hole. 60 already? He hit again. Missed. Thank god. I thought I'm not gonna play at all.

I took the stricker and hit it in the center, there are still many pieces in the center. To win this whole game I doesn't need higher score. Even on ranked board it's more about potential. And I'm not gonna remove my facade yet.

It hit the pieces and 2 black ones went to goal but 2 white pieces got lined up horizontally in upper half, perfectly in center. I'm in luck.

I hit it. And both went in the forward holes. 60 points. Then I missed the next one. How's that? Good right? It wasn't luck and I know that you know. And I also know you know that I know you know, naturally I know and you know.

There's a camera in room of course. And I KNOW.... ok.

60 on 60. 8:45 remaining time.
