Maria's POV
I was lying comfortably on a bed I've never lied in my whole life. So soft that I could sleep there for a whole day. But then something clicked on my mind. Wait, a bed I've never laid before. That means ...that isn't my bed. I opened my eyes immediately and saw a strange surrounding. I jumped out in fright but discovered I was naked, so I locked myself on a quilt and tried to remember how I got here. But I could only remember I went out with my best friend Jenny and I met a handsome boy and things got fuzzy. Who am I? Did I sleep with a stranger? I have to get out of here quickly before it gets charged against me, I said to myself, and quickly dressed up.
As I was about to rush out, the bathroom door opened and a male demigod stepped out, wrapped in a towel, water dripping from his hair down his chest. I was stunned and stole a glance, but his voice broke my thought.
"Why are you running, Wifey?" And I was shocked.
"Wifey? How can I be a wife to a stranger?" And I said, "Are you sure you're not having a memory loss?"
But he said that we just got married yesterday. "You were the one who dragged me to the bureau's office," he said.
"And I have no choice but to follow you because my parents are dramatic, always saying they'll kill themselves, they'll kill themselves. And I saw you as an opportunity"
and I blew it off like a boiling kettle.
"What do you take me for? I was very drunk, you, a sensible person, could have avoided that, could have stopped it, but no, you married me like that. Are you okay?, We are getting a divorce immediately."
But before I could step out, I
was surprised to see her parents in the front door. "Mom, Dad, what are you doing here?"
"To meet our daughter's fiancé...her husband."
"What...which husband? Who came up with that?, I asked
" Why would you be hiding such a thing?"they questioned
"your husband's family has brought their dowry and you were married yesterday.
"What? you just married me off like that?
"Can't let you waste your beauty at home. At least you got to a better husband."
"What, Mom, Dad, this is the thing you are going to do ...to me?" I said shockingly.
"Well, that...just know that you aren't welcome in our home anymore. You are.....going to be in your husband's house. You get that."
"What, Mom, Dad, you can't do this to me!" I cried, but they ignored me and went straight to my so-called husband.
"Oh wow, my son-in-law, you look so madly handsome. How was you guys all night yesterday?"
"Good and amazing," he said shamelessly.
And I was furious, but I couldn't do anything because being angry for nothing will give me BP, so I just ignored him and went out to find my bestie so that we could clear up our heads together. I arrived at the shopping mall that I and my best friend Jenny agreed on and we shopped to our fill. After a while we went to a nearby café for a drink and I started venting my frustration,
"Can you believe, I got married yesterday unknowly ? And her eyes widened in shock
" What!!! "
Well, you have fulfilled your parents wishes and escaped blind dates" she said but I rolled my eyes and said
"What if he has an unknown illness or he is an assassin?
" Stop being dramatic, he would have killed you yesterday "she said and I found sense in it.
" But I will not fullfil any wife duties ",i said .
" Whatever you do is your choice, anyway I met an handsome guy yesterday and he said he like me and wants me to be his girlfriend but you know we have to be hard to get but i gave him my number "she said excitedly and I rolled my eyes
" Is that what you mean by being hard to get?"
" We are just friends not in relationships" she clarified
"Yesss." I know and shifts to other topics, sipping our drinks
"So, when are you resuming to your new location?" She asked
"Next week" I said
"New position, hmm" she teased
"Yes ma" jokely
