Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Training Instant Transmission

After subduing the white tiger, Qin Yan fed it a Senzu Bean. In a matter of moments, the beast was back on its feet, looking as lively as ever.

His sudden move startled the little ones. They tensed up, terrified that the tiger might go on the rampage again. Only after Qin Yan explained that the tiger no longer posed a threat did they finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Before long, curiosity got the better of them, and they began to crowd around the beast. The boldest of the lot, Luo Fei, reached out a cautious hand to test the waters. When the tiger didn't snap, he beamed and began to stroke its soft, snowy fur.

Seeing that the giant tiger was indeed being well-behaved, the others couldn't help themselves. They began petting the tiger from head to tail, admiring the beautiful creature. They showered it with praise, calling it cute, tall, and majestic, marveling at how soft its white fur was.

The white tiger was currently in a state of utter despair, having lost all will to live. As the sovereign of the forest, when had it ever been treated like this? Yet, it had no choice but to bow its head. It was truly a case of a tiger fallen on hard times being bullied by everyone.

As they watched the tiger, the children had a sudden whim: they wanted to give the giant beast a name. They immediately began racking their brains, each trying to come up with something better than the last.

The names that popped out of their little heads were more ridiculous than the one before.

Luo Xuanyi suggested "White Feather." It was decent enough, and Xiao Bei liked it quite a bit.

Luo Fei, however, disagreed. He felt it wasn't domineering enough. He declared that it should have a name that commanded respect something like "Decepticon."

Hearing that, Qin Yan nearly stumbled and fell. Decepticon? Why don't I just call myself Megatron then?

Such a tacky name was met with a chorus of disapproval.

While the others' rejections were expected, even Er Niu didn't agree. With a straight face, he offered his own suggestion: "Three Oxen."

How did he have the nerve? How could he even say that out loud? The group looked at him with utter disdain, rolling their eyes in unison.

Qin Yan couldn't help but laugh along. You might as well call it Optimus Prime at this rate. What a bunch of weirdos.

Long Vivi suggested the name "Cold Snow," reasoning that the tiger was sacred, aloof, and as white as snow. Qin Yan found the name a bit cringey and vetoed it, telling them to keep thinking.

Everyone stood their ground, and a heated argument broke out as they each defended their own ideas, refusing to yield an inch.

Seeing that they were getting nowhere, Qin Yan issued a final ultimatum. "We'll call it Baymax. It's simple, clear, and easy to understand. It fits the tiger's temperament perfectly."

He didn't want to waste any more time on this. The others could only drop the matter with a huff, nodding as they accepted reality.

The white tiger had seen it all. The scene left it completely dazed. What are they doing? They didn't even ask if I agreed! They just decided for themselves! Is there no respect for a tiger's life anymore? Is there no law? No tiger rights?

The moment Qin Yan made the decision, the tiger realized it had absolutely zero rights.

It regretted being so loud at the beginning. Now it was a prisoner, left to the mercy of others.

The tiger shed tears of regret, which everyone mistook for tears of joy. Satisfied, they stopped arguing and began calling it "Baymax."

Oh, Heaven! Oh, Earth! What is happening today? How did I get stuck with this? Did I forget to check the almanac before leaving the den? The tiger felt its future turn pitch black, its heart heavy with sorrow.

And so, the tiger resigned itself to its fate and joined Qin Yan's team.

Shortly after, Qin Yan scouted the ancient tree. He discovered a spot at the very top, in the center of the canopy, that was perfect for building a shelter. He decided to turn this place into a temporary base, a site for long-term training until they were ready to leave and return to Planet Vegeta.

Over the next few days, through everyone's hard work, a simple shelter was finally completed.

Qin Yan then instructed Liya, Luo Xuanyi, and the others to train and gain experience on their own in the surrounding area. Since there were no longer any beasts with overwhelming combat power nearby, he felt they would be safe.

He even had Baymax follow them, with the condition that the tiger was not to intervene unless it was absolutely necessary. This ensured they were never in any real mortal danger.

Early the next morning.

Qin Yan rose early. After finishing a set of basic morning exercises, he prepared to head into the jungle to pick some wild fruit for breakfast.

With a leap, he plunged into the clouds, flying down from the ancient tree. He soared freely through the sky, taking in the magnificent views of the deep mountain canyons and the breathtaking beauty of the natural landscape.

Carrying a massive lotus leaf he had picked by the lake, Qin Yan darted through the dense forest, searching for edible wild berries.

Before long, he spotted a tall tree ahead, laden with heavy, enticing fruit. They looked delicious. His eyes lit up, and he vanished, reappearing among the branches.

He picked one, wiped it briefly on his clothes, and took a bite. Instantly, cool, sweet-and-sour juice exploded in his mouth, flooding his parched taste buds. It was refreshing and invigorating.

The fruit tasted great, so he decided to gather more. However, picking them one by one seemed like a hassle.

Suddenly, a spark of inspiration hit him. He climbed down to the base of the tree, shouldering the lotus leaf and waving a hand at the trunk. "Yo! Mr. Tree, I'm going to borrow a few fruits to satisfy my hunger."

After a mock bow, Qin Yan placed a palm lightly against the trunk. With a soft grunt, he exerted a hidden force. An invisible power surged from his palm, flowing up the trunk and spreading through every branch.

The branches began to vibrate, leaves rustled loudly, and the fruit shook violently. Before long, the ripe fruit could no longer hold on and began to plummet.

Patter! Patter! The plump fruits fell from the sky like rain.

"Wow! So many! Now that's more like it!" Watching the rain of wild fruit, Qin Yan quickly held up the lotus leaf to catch them. His small frame flickered back and forth under the tree, catching the falling fruit one by one.

When the last fruit was safely in his possession, the grand shower of fruit came to an end.

The fallen fruit didn't quite fill the lotus leaf bundle it was only about a third full but Qin Yan decided that was enough for now. He would look for other varieties. He slung the heavy bundle of fruit over his back and continued his journey.

Half an hour later.

"Yahoo!" Qin Yan burst out of the shrubbery, carrying a massive bundle of fruit wrapped in lotus leaves.

In his left hand, he dragged a large bucket made of tree bark, lined with lotus leaves and filled to the brim with a milky white liquid. He had recently spotted a wild deer foraging with its newborn fawn. Qin Yan had set his sights on her and, after quite a bit of effort, managed to "borrow" some milk from the mother deer.

As a reward, he had left a strand of his Ki within her. This Ki would protect her if she ever encountered danger.

It was a bumper harvest! Qin Yan went to the lake to wash the fruit before packing everything back up.

By the time he returned to the shelter, the little ones were all awake. He called them over to wash up and join him for breakfast.

After everyone had finished their delicious and hearty meal, they bid Qin Yan farewell and set off on their own training paths.

Once everyone was gone, Qin Yan communicated with the system, pulling up the instructions for Perfect Instant Transmission.

As the system initiated the transfer, the cultivation methods for Perfect Instant Transmission were transmitted directly into his mind. Once he had absorbed it all, he withdrew his consciousness from the system space and began to train according to the method.

To help focus his mind, Qin Yan raised his right hand, pressing his index and middle fingers together against his forehead, just like Goku in the anime. He closed his eyes, concentrating all his focus on sensing every trace of the surrounding auras.

The chaotic mix of Ki in the area required him to be calm and discerning. He needed to form a clear spatial map in his mind, where every signature and point of light represented a different location. He had to lock onto a target and hold it firmly.

Gradually, the unique signatures of living things became clearer and more distinct.

"Here it comes... I can feel it." After a long while, Qin Yan finally captured a target's aura. He immediately activated the technique.

Hum! Hum! Hum! His figure began to flicker and blur.

Then, with a sharp Swoosh!, Qin Yan vanished on the spot.

The scene shifted.

With another Swoosh!, Qin Yan's figure reappeared. He was currently lying flat on his back, having no idea which corner of the world he had teleported to. He stared up at the deep blue sky, looking a bit dazed.

Where am I? Did I succeed?

He felt a bit uncertain about whether the jump had been a success.

During his brief moment of confusion, his body was still in free fall, plummeting rapidly.

By the time he snapped out of it and looked around, he realized he was surrounded by dense leaves. In the distance was the broad expanse of a tree crown. The familiar environment made him realize his mistake he was at the very edge of the crown. It was completely wrong.

A scream echoed through the mountains. Liya, Luo Xuanyi, and the others, who hadn't gone far yet, heard his voice. They assumed he was researching some powerful new technique. As for why no one was worried about him being in danger well, that was simply because they knew better than to overthink things.

At the edge of the tree crown, Qin Yan sat cross-legged in the void, slowly ascending. He crossed his arms and rubbed his chin, pondering where he had gone wrong. He had actually failed.

I felt like I was almost there. Was my timing off?

It probably was. Let's try again.

Qin Yan wasn't discouraged. He stood up, rejuvenated his spirits, and prepared for another attempt. If one try didn't work, he'd try again and again until he got it perfectly right. Failure wasn't scary; what was scary was being afraid of failure. Encountering problems was normal. Only by overcoming difficulties could one solve problems, grow, and improve.

At this moment, Qin Yan was filled with an unprecedented vitality. He wanted to improve more than anything.

He raised his hand and closed his eyes once more, focusing his mind. This time, he would be even more careful and meticulous. Once he found the right moment, he willed the Instant Transmission to activate, and his body vanished.

When he reappeared, he was hanging from a tree branch in the middle of some unknown forest.

Clearly, it was another failure. Qin Yan didn't care. He activated Instant Transmission again, only to land in a thicket of shrubs.

Another failure. Again.

This time, he fell straight into a lake.

Again.

Qin Yan appeared ten thousand meters in the air, above the clouds.

Again, his figure appeared in the middle of the endless deep sea.

The repeated failures didn't break his spirit. He remained persistent, refusing to give up.

Each failure was a lesson, and Qin Yan was making incremental progress.

Every beginning is difficult, and true skill is forged through time and practice. Through his countless failures, he was slowly but surely getting closer to success.

In a clearing far off in the forest, Liya, Luo Xuanyi, and the rest of the group were enjoying a delicious barbecue. A massive skeletal frame of roasted meat sat over the campfire, proof that they had been eating for quite some time.

Everyone was tearing into the meat with gusto. Baymax was sprawled on the ground, his paws holding down a massive bone as he gnawed on it. Even though there was no meat left, he was still licking the bone with his tongue, enjoying it just like a dog.

Boom! A deafening crash rang out.

A black shadow dropped from the sky and slammed into the ground. Rocks flew, dust billowed, and thick smoke rose as a deep crater was carved into the earth.

The noise startled Baymax so much that he stopped gnawing. He pressed his paws firmly onto the bone and looked around with wide eyes, as if afraid someone was coming to steal his food.

When he didn't see anything, he sat there dazed for a moment before assuming it was an earthquake. He ignored it and went back to his meal.

The others were also startled by the sudden, massive sound. They jumped to their feet, alert, and stared at the source of the noise. Through the hazy dust, they could make out a small, dark figure that looked human.

The group grew tense. They exchanged looks and crowded close together, getting into combat stances, ready for anything.

As the dust settled, they saw a person stuck in the mound of dirt inside the crater. He was upside down, his head buried deep in the soil. The figure looked strangely familiar.

"Ah! Brother Qin Yan!" Liya was the first to realize, and she gave a loud shout.

"Qin Yan?"

The others realized it as well, their eyes wide with disbelief. They never expected to see Qin Yan in such a state.

Indeed, the shadow buried in the dirt was Qin Yan. Liya hurried forward and pulled him out.

The others stared in shock and confusion, wanting to know why he was here and how he had ended up like this. In their eyes, Qin Yan was omnipotent; they couldn't imagine what he could have possibly encountered to end up in this state.

"Hee-hee-hee! Brother Qin Yan, what are you doing?" Seeing the disheveled and bedraggled Qin Yan, the little girl broke into a giggle.

"Qin Yan, are you okay? What happened to make you look like this?" Luo Xuanyi and the others rushed forward to check on him.

"Cough! Hack! It's fine, it's fine. I'm just training. There was a little accident, don't worry about it," Qin Yan explained slowly.

He was dying of embarrassment. He had lost so much face that he wished he could find another hole to crawl into.

He patted the dust off his clothes. Seeing the meat in their hands, the massive skeleton by the fire, and Baymax still gnawing away on the ground, Qin Yan was speechless.

I only left a little while ago, and they're already eating again. What a bunch of gluttons.

He said nothing else and turned to leave.

"Brother Qin Yan, do you want some?" Liya called out in a crisp voice.

"No, you guys eat." Qin Yan was busy with his training; he didn't have time for their games. He carefully sensed the Ki of the wild beasts before activating Instant Transmission and vanishing, leaving the bewildered group behind.

Watching him drop from the sky and then suddenly disappear, the group was full of questions. But seeing that he was unharmed, they didn't press him further. If Qin Yan said he was fine, then he was fine.

As the sun began to set, the day quickly came to a close.

On the boundless prairie, Qin Yan sat slumped on the ground, gazing at the curved hills in the distance. He thought he saw a dark shadow running there; it was his fading youth.

Time flew, and the days passed one after another. During the day, Qin Yan practiced Instant Transmission.

At night, he sat atop the ancient tree, practicing the Grand Primeval Chaos Creation Dao Profound True Wonder Art to increase his strength and gain insights into nature, the world, and the vast, profound silence of the starry sky.

Five months later.

In the Western Heaven Desert, Qin Yan stood atop a volcano crater. He raised two fingers to his forehead and activated Instant Transmission. His figure blurred before vanishing instantly.

A moment later, in the shelter at the top of the ancient tree, Qin Yan appeared inside the small wooden cabin.

After months of training, he had finally mastered Perfect Instant Transmission. On this planet, as long as there was Ki, he could teleport there. He could even travel back and forth between any planet within his sight.
