Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: One Against Ten Thousand

"Lord Frieza, everything is prepared. We are simply waiting for your command. We can deal with those arrogant Saiyans at any time," reported the handsome Zarbon, his expression warm and composed as he stood behind Frieza.

"Ho ho ho ho! Since you are ready, Mr. Zarbon, then let us begin. Have the entire army pour out from every hatch of the ship. Annihilate all life on Planet Vegeta immediately. I want to enjoy the screams of those savage Saiyans as they beg for mercy before this planet vanishes from the universe forever."

Frieza stood with his hands behind his back, peering through the ship's observation window at the world below. His tail swayed leisurely as he spoke to his trusted lieutenant in a voice as cold as ice.

"As you wish, Lord Frieza," Zarbon replied calmly.

Zarbon beckoned to an alien soldier stationed outside the room. The soldier jolted, hurried inside, and bowed low. After receiving a few hushed instructions from Zarbon, the alien bowed again to Frieza and Zarbon before retreating quickly to relay the command to the rest of the fleet.

"Hmph! It has been quite some time since I've enjoyed the universe's greatest show. I hope these fireworks are truly magnificent," Frieza chuckled, his eyes fixed on the crimson jewel that was Planet Vegeta.

"This is the final view of this planet, after all." His eyes gleamed with anticipation.

"Indeed," Zarbon agreed softly from behind him. Though he appeared refined and elegant, his heart was exceptionally cruel. He had served as Frieza's right hand for years alongside the now-deceased Dodoria. Though he wasn't the absolute strongest among Frieza's subordinates, his high standing and Frieza's deep trust made him a prominent figure in the empire.

Meanwhile, on Planet Vegeta.

Qin Yan, Bardock's squad, and their families stood on the balcony of a high-rise building. They watched in silence as two suns hung in the sky. Within the reflection of the sun on the right, the silhouette of a massive, saucer-shaped spaceship slowly appeared.

Frieza had finally arrived.

Qin Yan was in no rush to send Bardock's parents or Gine away. He watched the horizon with them; as long as they remained by his side, they were safe, and he could move them into his storage space at a moment's notice.

At this moment, Bardock was accompanied only by Issho and his other three teammates. No other Saiyans had followed them.

Bardock and his team had tried their best to persuade the rest of their race to stand against Frieza, exposing his conspiracy to everyone. However, their warnings were met only with heartless, ignorant laughter.

The others claimed Bardock and Issho had lost their minds. Enraged to the point of exploding, Bardock had cursed them as fools. He no longer counted on those ignorant Saiyans; if they wanted to go to hell, he would let them.

"I... I will definitely... change the future!" Bardock muttered, his fists clenched so tight his knuckles turned white. He stared up at Frieza's ship with eyes full of fury, making a silent vow.

Every eye was fixed on the ship as it came to a halt high in the atmosphere. With a series of mechanical clicks, dozens of hatches slid open. Countless alien soldiers swarmed out from the circular ports of the massive vessel,

looking like a cloud of hornets erupting from a disturbed nest. They descended in an orderly but overwhelming wave, drifting through the air like a spray of water over a field.

In an instant, the sky was blotted out. The sheer number of soldiers created a suffocating black shroud that pressed down toward Planet Vegeta, like dark clouds threatening to crush a city.

Bardock and his team looked up at the looming Frieza Force with grim expressions. They knew this would be an unprecedented, brutal struggle.

In truth, Qin Yan could have ended it all with a single Kamehameha, wiping out the entire army and Frieza along with them. But he chose not to. There was no sport in that.

Frieza's power level was a staggering 120 million. In all his time training, Qin Yan had never encountered such a powerful, living being. He wanted a real fight; he was tired of sparring with lifeless puppets in the training halls.

"I'm counting on you, Qin Yan," Bardock said, his eyes flashing with murderous intent as his battle spirit soared. He glanced at Gine one last time before turning to Qin Yan. Understanding the weight of the request, Qin Yan gave him a reassuring nod.

Bardock turned to Issho and the others. "Alright, let's go!"

"Right!" Issho and the teammates nodded, their eyes devoid of fear.

Bardock took the lead, with Issho and the three others following close behind as they charged fearlessly into the heart of Frieza's legion.

"Bardock, be careful!" Gine cried out, watching her husband fly toward the enemy ranks with worry. She didn't try to stop him; she knew Bardock's sense of honor was too great for him to sit idly by. She could only shout for him to watch his back.

Bardock looked back for a split second, gave a heavy nod, and then accelerated into the fray.

The clash began almost instantly.

Bardock dove into the crowd, tearing into the front lines of Frieza's men. With his power level around 10,000, these low-level soldiers most with power levels of only one or two thousand were no match for him.

He took down the bizarre-looking aliens with single punches and sent them flying with bone-shattering kicks. He was a force of nature, carving a path through the enemy formation. Frieza's subordinates fell from the sky like rain.

Compared to Bardock's overwhelming dominance, Issho and the others found the battle much harder. Their power levels were only around two or three thousand. While higher than the average foot soldier, they were outnumbered ten to one.

Frieza's army also boasted its own elites, many of whom were as strong as or stronger than Issho's team. They were forced into a desperate defensive struggle. Had Qin Yan not given them each twenty Senzu Beans before they left, they likely would have fallen already.

Before the squad departed, Qin Yan had explained that eating a single bean could instantly heal all wounds and restore their stamina. The "godly medicine" had given them a massive boost in confidence. Qin Yan didn't care much for their gratitude; he simply didn't want the show to end too early.

Bardock soon found himself surrounded by dozens of large alien warriors. They leveled their laser rifles at him, the muzzles cold and dark. With a coordinated click, they pulled their triggers simultaneously, unleashing a barrage of beams.

An explosion rocked the air.

The lasers hit Bardock head-on, creating a pillar of fire and a thick cloud of rolling smoke. The soldiers paused, thinking they had reduced the Saiyan to ash. Their faces began to twist into celebratory grins, but their joy was short-lived.

Bardock burst through the flames, targeting a red-skinned alien. He delivered a heavy elbow strike directly to the soldier's face. The force was so immense that the alien's head distorted, his eyes bulged out, and his scouter shattered into pieces. The soldier went limp instantly, falling from the sky like a dead fish.

After killing the red-skinned soldier, Bardock didn't stay to fight the rest. He ignored the weaklings and charged straight for the command ship. He moved with a singular purpose: to take the head of the king. He believed that if he could just defeat Frieza, the battle and the destruction of his planet would end.

Enemy fire came from all directions, but Bardock's silhouette blurred as he dodged one energy blast after another, returning fire and knocking down anyone in his way.

Suddenly, dozens of soldiers threw themselves at him, using their bodies as physical barriers to slow him down. They grabbed his legs, his arms, and even tried to lock his throat in a desperate attempt to choke him. They thought their combined weight would stop his momentum, but Bardock continued to drag a hundred men through the air as he pressed toward Frieza's ship.

"Argh! Frieza!" Bardock roared in fury.

A sudden, violent explosion of power erupted from his body. A massive wave of Ki surged outward, blasting away every soldier clinging to him. Ignoring the scattered survivors, Bardock's body was enveloped in a terrifying, pale blue aura of Ki as he accelerated toward the mothership.

Inside Frieza's spaceship, in the central command hall.

"Lord Frieza, an exceptionally powerful Saiyan is approaching the ship. Many of our warriors have failed to stop his progress," reported a human-looking alien, saluting Frieza.

As the soldier spoke, a large screen flickered to life above the observation window. The footage showed Bardock, wreathed in pale blue Ki, tearing through the army like a hot knife through butter. Anyone who got close was sent spiraling away. It seemed as though no one could stand in his way.

Frieza's face darkened, his dark purple lips twitching slightly. He crossed his arms over his chest. "Mr. Zarbon."

"Yes, Lord Frieza!" Zarbon responded immediately.

"Open the top hatch of the ship," Frieza commanded, his voice carrying a bone-chilling cruelty.

"But... the soldiers are still out there..." Zarbon's eyes widened in disbelief. He realized exactly what Frieza intended to do. A bead of cold sweat rolled down his forehead; even he was shaken by the cold-blooded nature of the order.

Frieza dropped his crossed arms to his sides.

"I obey!" Zarbon shrieked, terrified by Frieza's mounting irritation. He scrambled to carry out the order.

Just as Zarbon had feared, Frieza was staring at the screen with gritted teeth. His crimson eyes were filled with an endless, murderous intent, and his face twitched with a rage that had reached its breaking point.
